I guess I started this to see which players there are next season which will be blowing up or making a big impact. Especially name players that aren't so well known, such as players in Mid-Majors and outside of the Big 6 Conferences. You can also discuss players that are more well-known or on well-known teams but have not had their time yet.

    Here's some for now:

Ben Gordon (UConn)--One of the top guards out of NY. He'll have alot more opportunities to score now that Caron is gone. He definitely showed some signs of talent, but many failed to give him any notice. Also watch for Tony Richardson, his back-court partner

Will Bynum(Arizona)--In high school this guy was sick. He and Sean Dockery would have amazing games against each other. Last year I think he had to adjust to not being "the man" but now that he has some experience look out for him. He's pretty small, but has explosiveness, some sick handles, and can shoot well. Frye, a post player, did quite well for a freshman last year as well.

Chris Thomas(Notre Dame)--Some of you all might have heard of him. He was a HS all-american and Mr. Basketball in Indiana. He can score better than TJ right now by far. He doesn't rack up as many assists but he does a good job distributing the ball. He took his game to another level in the conference tournaments and such at the end of the year.

Langford(Kansas)--Very physical and athletic. Looked very good in the tournament and should have a great year now that Gooden is gone.

Rick Rickert(Minnesota)--Being the primary option on his team and pretty nice scoring ability, his stats should be very good. He'll probably stay under the radar next season as well as his team is not very high-profile.

Maxiell(Cincinatti)--This guy is a freak. Just dunks down EVERYTHING. Typical Cincinatti power player...

    Other players interesting to watch:
John Lucas Jr. (Baylor)--He started last season pretty well, but fade towards the end

TJ Ford--Everyone knows he can pass, but if he wants to be drafted high he better prove his jumpshot is there

I'll post other players later on, but I just wanted to see what you all thought. Add any players that are lesser-known if you can.

I'll add one more to the list -- Rickey Paulding. If this guy makes the same strides he did from 2 years ago to last year, then he'll be scary. He basically went from a bricklayer to a pretty good 3 pt shooter in less than a year, and he already is a great slasher. Kind of reminds me of Eddie Jones.

I got one. James Thomas out of Texas. He almost reminds me of Ben Wallace the way he hustles for rebounds. His offensive skills are much better than Wallace's are

See that's what I'm talking about...

Doug Wrenn from Washington, thanks for mentioning that. I haven't even heard of him, but will watch out now.

UNC has an awesome class but I don't know if they all will stay...

I like James Thomas, but I wouldn't go so far to compare him to Ben Wallace.

    I'll check out Delfino too.

    Thanks

My thoughts exactly, a Ben Wallace type player, TJ ford is the best pg in the nation, look for him to explode this year and think about making the jump because like everyother college star, people are gonna tell him that he'll be a lottery player if he leaves early.........but if UT can find some consistent outside shooting this year, watch out, they could already be a lockin for the final four.

Another player not mentioned is Antoine Wright of Texas A&M. He is a 6'7'' freshman swingman that can reportedly stroke the 3. I saw some recruiting sites ranking him in the top 3 shooting guards in the nation. Plus, he should get plenty of playing time for the Aggies.

    Anyone have some more players?

Isn't there a post player in San Diego State or something?

Nobody is talking up Aaron Miles of KU, but the guy is a player, and is going to be one of the top pgs in the nation this year or next.

    James White = Harold Minor

he has no skills to speak of but has a vertical leap that makes a Kangaroo jealous

I say Carmelo Anthony and Emeka Okafor will both look great this year

Luke Ridnour will build on last season. He will contend for PAC-10 POY and first team AA.

    Errrr...TJ FORD!!! :p

I don't think anybody needs to watch out for Hollis Price -- we were already watching.

I don't know about his offensive skills being much better. IMO, they are pretty much the same all around. Somewhat undersized, but freakish athleticism and strength for their size. And play their asses off.

Sydmill Harris-UT Sophomore from the Netherlands. The guy has the sweetest stroke in the Big 12 (maybe the nation?) and at 6'5'' can swing from 2 to 3. Rick Barnes got a steal with this kid. He isn't going anywhere especialy not with TJ still at Texas.

Deginald Erskin-UT Senior/North Texas transfer. The guy isn't going to the NBA but is a freak athlete. Originally recruited to play football at UT he signed w/NT to play ball but returned to the 40 acres as a walk-on, earned a single year scholarship last year and ended up the starting 4 after CO went down. Word is that they are moving him to the 3 to get Buckman more pt so we'll see how it afects his game but he was damn good last year for us.

Just to get a word in, doesn't it seem like Hollis Price is having a Scott Padgett type of career? It seems like both of them have spent 20 years at their repective institutions.

I'm from UT, but I love how Hollis plays. TJ is a player to watch because he has to prove he can score with his jumper this year. That's basically his only knock. I have the feeling his jumper hasn't improved immensely, but there'll be some improvement.

Ridnour is badass, White is overrated, Carmelo should be good.

Yes, McCants looked like one of the top 3 All-Americans along with Carmelo and Felton. Watch out for Hassan Adams going to AZ as well. DAMN ARIZONA...

I think UT and their players other than TJ are way overrated... #4 is ridiculous. There are 2 teams in our own conference who are significantly better, and I'll admit it. OU and Kansas are superior.
