If the Rockets were playing against this zone, Martin and Brooks would've easily dissected it with dribble drives to the basket, Yao would kick it out to Budinger or Ariza for 3's, and that'd be the end of it.
that happens to the less aggressive losing team. it has nothing to do with revenue. how is it hard to comprehend that the home team in this series has dominated their opponent?
That was one of the sweetest moves I've seen all year; best of all, it was made in an important moment.
Better shooter than whom? I hope you didn't mean a better shooter than Nash .... http://espn.go.com/nba/statistics/p...Efficiency/seasontype/2/position/point-guards
Lopez doing his Zoidberg impression makes Dragic's highlight so much more entertaining. Beautiful move.
Nash is one of the best shooters in the game ever. He has 0.605 TS% and .556 eFG% over his entire career. Brooks had .549 and .511 respectively this season, and .538 .497 (resp.) over his career. Nash is by far the better shooter. In fact, Nash's worst season was .576 .515, which is still better than Brooks' best.
I think he means Brooks is a better shooter than Fisher and would better take advantage of Nash's poor defense.
Why is that funny? The whole point of a zone defense is that it encourages the other team to take a bunch of jump shots. By the way, the Suns took more free throws than LA in game 1 too. Maybe it has something to do with the style they play. The goal of an NBA ref is to call the fouls that occur - not to even up the free throws taken.
Watching the game I have a question. I noticed when Odom and Gasol caught the ball in the paint sometimes. The defenders on the backside of the zone where 'in the circle under the goal' Beyond them both being toilet paper soft What's stopping Gasol and Odom from Bulling into them? IF they just bulled over them . . .would that be a foul since they were inside the circle [I still hate the circle . . . to me it is just dumb ] Rocket River
But you're assuming the shots taken by LA in the paint is being defended properly while when the Suns take it to the paint, they're getting fouled. Wouldn't the rest of the league's fans get their panties all uptight if the Lakers got a +20 free throw advantage? Btw of all the teams remaining Free throw differential. Orlando +44 Phoenix +18 Boston -4 Los Angeles -87 (#16 of 16 from all playoff teams) How is that possible when you have a dominant scorer like Kobe and supposedly "all star caliber" big men like Gasol/Bynum/Odom getting lots of touches in the paint. You can go look that up on basketball reference if you'd like
And btw that move Dragic moved is one of the best plays I've seen all year. As as basketball fan thats just beautiful to watch
Yeah I meant Fisher, but he isn't far behind Nash. 1-on-1 Nash wouldn't be able to stay in front of Brooks... and even if he could... Brooks can bury it with a contested hand.
There's a rule that says if you catch it in the lower quarter, which I think implies in the paint and within like 5 feet of the basket, the circle doesn't matter. So if you catch it at the basket and bulldoze the defender, it's a charge regardless of the circle.
Yeah... PHX was getting away with that against SA when SA tried to take a charge when Stoudemire or Richardson caught it in the low post.
I can see tonights game being primarily focused on defense by the Lakers, I don't think they're worried too much about their offense because it's really just about making shots and finding certain spots to get good looks. If they can really hold PHX to under 30 pts in 3/4 quarters, they shouldn't have a problem winning this game.
