This is very interesting (and kind of humorous) to read and comprehend. A great 'dream' scenario, but that's exactly what this idea is. Let's be realistic, LeBron is not coming to Houston! Even though he is a spectacular player, and innovator of today's game, I, personally, don't want him here. And I also don't care for Bosh if we have to give up big value for him! Maybe someone should've started a "Rockets-Dream-Team-of-the-2010-2011-Season".
what I want to know is how this guy became a member already despite not posting once before creating this topic.
The more I think Bosh isn't coming here, the more I do think we are going to see a major splash on draft day. Not saying they will do THIS necessarily but I can see multiple player moves on draft night and of course shortly after.
OK I got what I expected. To be ripped in half by about half y'all but I appreciate the feed back. Sorry for starting my own thread I just have had that on my mind for a while and needed to get off my chest. But u got to admit it got y'all thinking a little bit
well no that is almost the whole team and it saids great but how did we get miller with out trading more people and the draft picks are gone remember soo who is lebrons back up??
Threads on Clutchfans: A Checklist Rockets taking a page out of the Pistons? (check) Rockets taking a page out of the Spurs? (check) Rockets taking a page out of the Suns? (check) Maybe we're just tryin' to do our own damn thing, foos.
Nice thread my friend. Congratulations on your first thread. The idea is far-fetched but as you said, a guy can dream and indeed he can . Is this possible? yes. Will this happen? probably not
I like this idea. I think we might have to get rid of brooks though. there wouldn't be enough shots on this team. yao - bosh- lebron. I think Lowry would be our Rondo. does anybody know if morey had anything to do with the allen and garnett trades?
The Rockets do not have 2 first round picks from NY. They only have the 2012 pick. They have the right to SWAP picks in 2011.
Some big diferences, IIRC, is Boston didn't do a sign and trade for either of there big 2 signings. Allen was a draft night deal for sure, but I don't remember about Garnett. Point is, Boston didn't have to lure 2 all-stars like you're expecting us to do. I think Boston also had a better trade asset in Jefferson then any of our guys. We may have more, but I don't think any of our guys was a coveted as Jefferson was at the time. Also, Boston had more favorable trading partners then we would have to work with. The Sonics were in fire sale mood, starting over. The Twolves are notorious for making bad deals. Neither Toronto or the Cavs would be as easy to fleece. Lastly, Pierce was an allstar with plenty of playoff experience who isn't perpetually hurt like Yao is. If Morey ends up making two big moves, it'll be for an All-star, Bosh, and a potential all-star, like one of the top picks or Rubio.
Before I finished reading, I already knew my reply ... but then you put it in your thread yourself ... "pipe dream" ... so I'll chime in with the other thing on my mind as I read ... Granted, Bosh coming to Htown could be easily compared to KG going to Boston. But I'm sorry ... Lebron coming to Houston IS NOT comparable to Ray Allen going to Boston. Which is precisely why this scenario is not possible. You're talking about the equivalent of getting KG and then having Kobe agree too ... not gonna do it, not gonna do it.
It's easy for these guys to slam someone's idea if it has a very small chance of happening. The risk of saying you are a fool is very low and they can join the majority to make them feel good. Like being associated with a winner. I am all for us getting Lebron and Bosh even though there is very little chance of it happening.
