What's your expectation for the rockets during this offseason?

Sign a big name (e.g., Bosh), move up draft to top 5, or just keep our current core players, resign Scola & Lowry, make a smart draft at # 14, and use MLE to sign a free agent?

My expectation is I will prob be down on what the Rockets will do on thier pick, they'll swing and miss in free agency and we'll end up with Brad Miller.

4th option sounds like a good backup plan to the big-name free agent.

Asking what you EXPECT to happen is different than what you WANT to happen.

abc2007 you need a NON OF THE ABOVE-
This off season, I see Morey making two surprise trades. (Not including Bosh)
I still could be wrong though!

In this double trade we must expect to loose two of our better known players and at least one of our youngest player also the NY draft picks and our #14 pick if Morey cant move up into the #2 or #3 draft pick.

If Morey does move up then he gets us our big man ( to play behind Yao) and only make one serious trade and one smaller trade, which funny enough turns out to be a real steal.

Yao Ming is anybody's guess- will he recover in time for the upcoming season?
Will he be able to play like the old Yao, or will he be even better when he gets his game legs on ?

Morey's aim is, if possible, to keep as much of our team together and move the team into one of the upper echelon contenders. :p

Something everyone should always take into account is that Morey might wait until the trade deadline. Patience is a virtue and smart general managers never force anything.

Why can't we make a major trade that doesn't involve a free agent or a high draft pick?

Good point DD. Didn't catch that when I voted.

I'd like to see them do both. I just don't have any confidence at all in Yao's long term availability. For that reason, I'd like to see them acquire a Bosh age/type/level free agent and have a shot higher in the draft. Then perhaps we end up with two star players with decent health outlooks going forward.

We could, but who is available? Martin was available last summer. I'm not sure there are any big names out there that teams want to move.

My hopes and my expectations are two different things. I expect them to sign Scola and Lowry, draft a big, and/or sign one via FA.

I hope they will make a bigger splash.

Play some summer league. Make a draft pick or deal or two. Get our hopes up. End up failing miserably. You know... the usual... :)

Brad Miller would definitely help us. He would help by preceding Yao off the bench for most of the 1st half of the season.

    My expectations are pretty high.

I think we get a star 4, either Bosh, Amare, or Jefferson.

If we don't get a big star I'll be kind of disappointed.

I want Evan Turner, or nothing.

If we can't move up to draft him as our possible future franchise player then I'm happy with re-signing Scola & Lowry and maybe an average free agent.

We need to win a championship. For this we need a franchise player with the killer instinct. I don't know a lot about this draft class, but if there is anyone like that (I think it might be Evan Turner), then we should do everything in our power to get him. Otherwise, do the best the season with our current team (quite strong as it exists) and try to get a killer instinct franchise player next draft. If we win it all this year, it's a bonus.

We need a franchise player with killer instinct. I don't see any way past that. Lakers have Kobe, Celtics have Pierce, Lebron is all about the money, and Wade needs any help in Miami. Oh, and Ginobili is locked up which sucks.

I think they will go 0-0 this offseason.

EDIT: Ohhhh... you had a POLL. Neverminds...
