Exactly, they had Hedo a better matchup issue......than Carter.

I think Rafer would have done well as a backup point for them though, much better than what they have there now.

They are missing an actual playmaker, not exactly just Rafer.

Rafer Alston is out of the NBA last time I checked. The worst team in the NBA (Nets) did not want his services, I doubt a team in the Eastern Conference Finals would need his crappy shooting and bad attitude.

You know what the Magic is really missing?

One of the oldest and most proven methods of scoring in basketball: penetration.

I don't know about this year since the C's have KG back, but I still think, had the Magic played Alston full time in the finals instead of stupidly thinking Nelson would return to all star form right away, the finals would of been more competitive then it was.

this is a joke right, rafer alston who lost him job to carlos arroyo, or some other scrub on miami, the rafer alston who was paid to leave to the nets when their setting the record for worst start in nba history.

do u think he would be shutting rondo down?

magic took 7 games to beat the celtics last year who were without the reigning nba defensive player of the year and their best all around player...

That thread is completely senseless, last year celtics were a shadow of themselves and injury-plagued. Rafer wouldn´t play better than Nelson.
I always wonder how those kind of threads get to more than one page.

The only time a team can miss Rafer Altson is if they have lofty lottery aspirations.

It is the height of delusion to think that any team misses Rafer Airballston. Geez!

If the magic miss rafer alston they've probably hit rock bottom and are in the depths of despair and desperation...oh wait they already have reached the abyss... they truly do miss rafer alston.

Rafer alston was one of the many bad moves made during the JVG-Dawson era. Many people still cling to the spin that rafer was part of the solution and not part of the problem.

lol I think they rather have Rafer, because he at least plays defense.

    Nelson stats........for a starting PG.
    17/44 FGs = 38.6 %

7 assists (total in 3 games)

10 TOs (total in 3 games)

Almost all of the Magic Fans agree that an undersized Starting PG who is scoring PG is hurting their team chemistry in the playoffs because defenses are tighter.

Team Chemistry > scoring PG (who plays little defense)

    Sounds all so familiar......

For now, let's just say the Celtics have everything to do with how this ECF is going much like their second round series with Cleveland. In fact, I think that they might be able to beat the Lakers for the Championship as well.

As for Rafer, I don't see how an Orlando Magic team with Rafer in the lineup in place of Jameer Nelson would scare anybody on the defensive end.
