Favors is a above average shotblocker with a 7'4" wingspan and 9'2" standing reach. His measurements are about the same as Dwight Howard. Favors has a larger frame at only 18 than Jordan Hill at 22. With his longer wingspan and bigger frame, he can develop into a better defender and handle Cs better than Jordan Hill. He's already a better scorer, rebounder, shotblocker than Hill at the same age.

I don't get it either. Didn't give long anwers-- he's no Shane Battier or Luis Scola but we are talking about a 19-year-odl kid. It's not like Cousins was being abusive to reporters or anything. Leave Cousins alone!
He doesn't seem to have a good grip on reality. During one of the interviews he was asked what perfession would he go into if he wasn't a basketball player, and he said "I would do your job." That was funny and a little irritating at the same time. I guess as a Rocket fan, I've seen far too many delusional players like T-mac thinking everyone's against him, Steve Francis who still believes he can play in the NBA, and well the T-mac of Greece. Another thing that bothered me was the fact that Cousins would either give an awkward one-word response or respond by saying "I tell them the truth." Its obvious the guy doesn't like interviews...heck he admitted it himself. At times he doesn't understand the question altogether. Conversely, the verdict isn't out until he steps on the court. One thing's for sure, we will always know what he's thinking. I'm just extremely picky, though. Hopefully doesn't turn out to be an Eddie Griffin type player, and pans out for whatever franchise he plays for.
I get that everyone keeps questioning Cousins but I don't get they Eddie Griffin type situation thing. Griffin had problems with teammates and everything. During the whole season I did not hear one thing about Cousins getting into it with a teammate.
The incident in the WVU game (regional final) was ugly. Something happened where Cousins voiced his displeasure with what was going on and Coach Cal said "Oh my god, Demarcus...do you want to coach the team"....something to that effect.
Interview skills have no importance on performance. Battier is a scrub but interviews well. It's even less important with atheletes. They may have more physical awareness and spatial intelligence than verbal intelligence.
Battier is a bad example. He interviews well and comes off as intelligent, then on the court he plays smart basketball. He just doesn't have the physical tools to play like he use to. With athletes I'm more worried they do something stupid off the court. I understand some players may be dumb as a brick, yet has basketball IQ and instincts, but Cousins has that also has the reputation of being uncoachable--which may be justifiable or not. I have a feeling he will be one of the most misunderstood players in the NBA.
