He sort of is. Obviously he was in a ton of foul trouble tonight so Amare just bulldozered Pau the rest of the way, but the commentators did mention that Bynum just didn't get minutes later on because his knee might be stiffening up from sitting on the bench so long or something.
Why? They don't have any good outside shooters. The zone is the perfect defense to play against them, and it has worked for every team that has tried it (no idea why Utah didn't continue going with it in game #4 after it was very effective in #3, at least way better than their other options; maybe Sloan is too much of a purist).
One of the worst players in the NBA and probably the dirtiest. Also human garbage for using his daughter's illness to get out of Utah (don't let TNT's misinformation fool you-- her doctor is in NYC which last I checked is closer to Utah than LA).
we will hear tomorrow phil jackson saying: "they shot 42 FT, and we only 20, thats why we lost" he is always complaining about that.
That's funny, because I thought the refs were bad in the opposite direction... LA was lucky to get the calls that they did...
lol if it was the rox, wouldn't u be complaining too? amare played great this game, but i worry its gonna be a one game wonder. If he does not play defense, this series is still gonna be dominated by the lakers.
It's funny Suns in first 2 games shot 2 more FT than Lakers and got blown out. Suns are a small team living on 3pt shot. This is playoff basketball and refs were calling every ticky tacky foul in their favor. This was the same reason Thunders could hang on to 6th game. They won the 3rd and 4th games by 20+ FTs and the 6th when they only had 17+ FT, they lost by 1. Numbers don't lie, one game can be a fluke. We'll continue to see that in Suns' home game.
Geez, it's like you don't even watch the games. The Suns shot a bunch of FTs early on when they were attacking the paint relentlesly (esp. Amare). Which calls were bogus? Meanwhile the Lakers jacked up over 30 threes! What the hell do you expect, man? Your team is soft as charmin.
i agree FT's can change a game .. but its also cause the suns were much more aggressive attacking the rim so they got the calls.. first two games amare didnt seem interested. This game he came out attacking..
The foul count was 28 to 21... The 3-point count was 32 to 20... You are right the numbers do NOT lie...
well you cant blame the refs if you are just gonna take jumpers all night the zone prevented the lakers from attacking the rim therefore the lack of freethrows. and check out how many threes lakers chucked up
a lot of you complained about a player not getting to the FT because he is soft, but if a team gets more then the refs are to blame for calling a lot of fouls. you have to be agressive and attack the basket, if you want to get FTs, if you just shoot 3pters or jumpers, you wont get a lot of FTs, also to shoot 42 FTs and just miss 5 is great, and if the suns had missed more FTs, then maybe the result would be different Also the lakers had 17 TOs, and Phoenix 7, dont you think that had to do with the loss too? if the rockets are not agressive, and just shooting jumpers, I dont complain, if the refs didnt call clear fouls, I would complain.
I don't get you. What the hell is a verbal flop? And who doesn't scream when they go to the rim. If you're going to nit-pick about **** like that... you might as well say everyone in the league flops... some more than others. Tracy McGrady must've been the biggest "verbal flopper" in the league at his prime... same thing with Shaq during his days in LA. Seriously... people on this board have to nit-pick about little things to hate on Kobe. They're usually blinded by the rest of the league and the fact that other superstars do the exact same thing...
So then what you're saying is that all those 3's made in games 1 and 2 were a fluke... the zone is made to force you to shoot 3's. They aren't going to struggle the whole series with a zone defense.... Kobe can also bust the zone, same goes with Brown. They didn't play well tonight with it, but they also had glimpses in the 2nd half where they broke the Suns defense down... It's not terrible to assume that they won't break it down even more in game 4, especially if they really want to close this series out.
So because JVG coined it... verbal flopping is something to look for when you're determining if you like a player or not. That's really something... damn. I couldn't care more about people's opinions on whether they like a player or not, that's why I generally ignore whatever hate comes towards any player that I like (and I think you do the same with KG)... it's just really stupid the kinds of things people come up with around here. Tells you how much the board has really fallen over the years....
