That should have been a no-hitter. Alot of people thought that Ricky Gutierrez "hit" should have been ruled an error. It was close
lol come on, AT the liquor store of course! (actually, if it's the liquor store i'm thinking of, they got rid of it when the stadium was built )
I used to hang around there b/c of friends in the neighborhood. I wonder how far along the city is in deghettofying the area...moving out poor folks and building towncenter type stuff. I stopped hanging around after they tore down the Wendy's!
I'm pretty much exclusively a Caps fan when it comes to D.C. sports but was a huge Redskins fan growing up. I've lost interest in them and football, in general, over the years for some reason. I spent the vast majority of my life in the D.C. area but my father was all about Cleveland sports, other than being a lifelong Caps fan, so I have always followed the Indians and Browns. For me, these are my teams in order of preference (and my favorite sports in order of preference), not that anybody cares... NHL: Caps (never even cared about another team, been a fan for almost 30 years now) NBA: Rockets (followed the Bullets briefly 20 or so years ago) MLB: Indians and Astros (1a and 1b), Orioles NFL: Redskins, Browns, Texans (not that into football in general)
they've done a decent job. still don't wanna be walking down the street heading east a few blocks, though. But they've put up some high rises right around the stadium, and more are going up. I almost bought one (unit) 2 years ago The 7/11 at 395 / South Capitol is still pretty ghetto...but it was good for slurpie breaks from work haha But up by the stadium, you can definitely walk around. They've put in a few nice restaurants...plus there's a starbucks, a subway, a five guys...and the DoT cafeteria is nice surprisingly
