does the NBA have the concept of 'no-trade' clauses in their contracts similar to the baseball contracts? if so, wouldn't shandon's agent have been intelligent (no jokes, please) enough to put that in since shandon took less money to sign with houston? ------------------
Here's the rule from the FAQ: A "no-trade" clause can be negotiated into an individual contract if the player has been in the NBA for at least eight seasons, has been with the same team for at least four seasons, and is re-signing with the same team. Otherwise, individually negotiated contracts may not contain no-trade clauses. http://www.members.home.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#71 So, in Shandon's case he couldn't have a no trade clause. ------------------
