It's the 2/22 one. I distinctively remember Morey wanted something like a hard cap, but one with no weird restrictions. Which means teams that are more diligent and prudent with money(i.e. Rockets) will benefit more.

That makes a lot more sense than what the guy on the previous page said.

I can't see anything good about having no cap in any sport.

    This.

He was OK with teams spending their entire cap on LBJ's salary. He thinks it should be somewhat of an open market within the hard cap and let the most prudent teams thrive.

Don't know how credible this is but average NBA GM salary is believed to be around $1.5 million.

I would guess Morey is still around average or below average since he's still on his first contract, so $100k is a hefty hit. That's probably about 10% of his take-home pay.

I don't know how any part of Morey's comments on the podcast harms the league.

Is this because Stern doesn't want individual teams talking about what they think a CBA should look like (even if it's just not a proposal that would seriously be considered or on the table) because the league wants a unified front on the CBA negotiations?

His chattiness is all a part of strategy. He can create an image for himself in the interest of business. Though this is probably just him slipping something on accident, the guy is devastating with calculation. Who knows what the hell he's up to?"

That David Stern should be retired already ...

Morey made his comments back in Feb just when the NBA released the threatening possibility of players' salaries being scaled back in the upcoming CBA. Everybody was giving their two cents' worth about the CBA and how the league ahould look like. Morey's comments were harmless. Sort of like "if I were to run this league ..." He wasn't even critical of the current administration.

But I bet this gets DM in the public eye, and people would get curious and his comments would get a bigger audience. Haha

After Houston gets multiple championships, and DM is older and grayer, I'll recommend him as NBA Commissioner to whip this league into better shape.

Not this year's sweeps fest ... ho hum
