I know Yao is all about business, getting healthy for next year and YES playing for China Again but why can't he be more vocal about what's best for his team. Does he not realize that he needs a second superstar playing next to him. I would like Yao to get on his twitter/facebook account if he has one and say that HE WOULD LOVE TO SHARE THE COURT WITH LeBRON OR CB4, that they would be loved by 1.3 Billion Chinese People like they once loved T-Mac Come on Yao, Let those Free Agents know you want them here in Houston.
hard to listen to a player who hasn't played basketball in over a year. I love the big fella but his words will fall on deaf ears.
I dont know about that....it's one thing to say "get me more help" and it's another to ask for a superstar, especially when their is no cap room. You're basically asking for teammates who play a significant role to be traded, why would he do that? If nothing happens, then he has to share the court with those teammates.
well you have a point but he's 30 years old now, and very fragile , he's not getting any younger or any healthier.. If he wants to win a RING he has to start campaigning for another superstar to join him even if it means trading a few team mates which is what Daryl Morey is gonna have to do anyways to get someone in..
What are you talking about!!! Yao is plenty vocal!!! <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/WsmkLW7NlS4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/WsmkLW7NlS4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>
Because that's what seperates guys like yao from guys like Marbury or McGrady. Instead of whining about the quality of his teammates, as the team leader he puts the blame on himself for not propelling the time.
Yao has no room to complain. Morey has done a great job of surrounding him with the necessary talent to win a Championship. If Yao has anything to complain about, it's Rick playing him too many minutes, but how many respected NBA players ever complain about that?
More like YOH's are returning. Op asked for Yao to be more vocal to other free agents which technically could decrease Yao's role by making the team better and you take that as a Yao only move?
Finally someone gets it.. What I meant by more Vocal was for Yao to use his Star Power to lure a huge F.A. even with Yao's injury history He's still a big and Important NBA Star; David Stern wants Yao to be successful because it brings more money to his league. Yao still matters so by him reaching out and expressing interest to play with Lebron or Chris Bosh makes things easier for Daryl Morey to work out a trade package with either Toronto or Cleveland. Also like you said A big star like that can take a lot of pressure off Yao's Shoulders and decrease his minutes somewhat that way he stays fresh for the Playoffs and get that Ring.. Once again Yao is not 23 anymore, he's 30 so it's about time he becomes a little more selfish and start thinking championship even if some of his team mates end up being traded..
Now Yao is one of my fav players bt more vocal? maybe on contract status its sometimes hard to understand him. Say he goes off doing an interview with steven smith like T-mac, and he prob won't understand him and get the wrong idea, like 1 day on espn a headline might read "Yao leaving Rockets to play for the Shanghai Sharks"
This would be a useful trait for our overpriced super injury prone bench cheerleader. We should of have traded him when he had some value. I have grown tired of his yearly season ending injuries.
Translation: I'm Yao Ming, therefore (however?) I'm not a vocal leader. The Chinese is ungrammatical though
The sad truth is that Yao has no star power to lure any high quality player. That idea is just a cruel joke at this point.
Sure, he could do this... ...but it's all for naught if Blake Griffin and Greg Oden make their pitches.
