This. Seriously though, Rashard has to be one of the most overpaid players in the NBA for what he does on the court. Like Kenny and Charles were talking about earlier, in order for 3-point shooters to be REALLY effective, they have to penetrate every now and then too. You have to keep defenses honest, so that they can't just play you on the perimeter. Lewis used to be so versatile and dynamic when he was in Seattle (enough to get Orlando to sign him to that ridiculous contract, anyways), and now he just camps at the 3 point line, and waits for the ball.
For all of you cat's bagging on Rashard, let me explain a couple of things about the young man. #1 - Dude is a straight up Christian to the 9th power (GOD takes care of his own. He also contributes 10% or more of his Gross Salary to GOD's mission) #2 - Dude is very humble #3 - Remember when he was left alone crying in the green room on draft night, when our beloved Rockets drafted 3 scrubs (Bryce, Mirsad, and Dickerson). Once again GOD takes care of his own #4 - If Orlando came to us and said you are our number 1 choice and we're going to pay you $120 mln no matter if u deserve it or not. How many of us would say no. So it's Orlando's fault, not his. #5 - The anti problem child besides the 10 game suspension this season. #6 - His mom is straight one of the most sexiest mom's in the NBA and that's after 4 kids. So, go bag on someone else and let this man do his thing. Hater's will be hater's and will never understand why GOD continues blessing this man.
tl;dr i don't care if he's nice. i know nice people that aren't getting paid $120 mill, and i don't think i'd want a player to camp behind the line and dog on defense (no matter how nice he might be). if he's being paid to play basketball, maybe he should play basketball?
I think it's BackNthDay who might be sleeping with Lewis' mom. j/k IIRC, many people on this very board were hoping for Rashard to be a Rocket. I don't blame the guy for taking the money. BackNthDay is right about that. Doesn't change the fact that he is overpaid when compared to actual production. Just because he's a good egg doesn't mean he deserved $120 million to score 6 ppg in the playoffs.
No doubt one of the worst contracts in the NBA , but at the time Orlando wanted a guy who could help build back up the franchise along with DH after the T-mac/ Grant Hill debacle.
Nope, just know them as very good people. There is only a couple of players who deserve max money. (Kobe, Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kareem, Wilt). I love Dream but he really declined after going to Toronto. The NBA is throwing money at guys because compared to the rest of the D league players they look like Kobe, Jordan, Bird, Magic, and Kareem.

Since we're talking about moms: Report: Stoudemire's mother arrested Phoenix Suns forward Amare Stoudemire's mother was arrested on Saturday in Scottsdale, Ariz., for failing to have an ignition interlock device on her vehicle, according to a report in the Arizona Republic. Carrie Mae Stoudemire, 54, was stopped at 3:25 p.m. after her Lincoln Navigator was straddling two lanes and going 60 mph, according to the Scottsdale police report. Her eyes were "watery and glassy," according to the officer. Carrie Stoudemire told the officer the Navigator was rented and she was unaware she needed to have an ignition interlock device on all of her vehicles. She added that she was on her way to an alcohol class. An ignition interlock device prevents a vehicle from being started if the driver's blood alcohol content, which is collected by exhaling into the device, registers above a pre-set level. Police said Carrie Stoudemire's driver's license says she must have the device on her vehicles until Oct. 30. After Carrie Stoudemire refused to participate in a field sobriety test, the officer handcuffed her and put her in the back seat of his patrol car. According to the report, Amare Stoudemire and another man arrived at the scene a few minutes later. Carrie Stoudemire began to yell "Amar'e!" and asked for a lawyer. Police said Carrie Stoudemire was charged with speeding, operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device and failure to drive in a single lane. She was booked into the Scottsdale jail and later released. Carrie Stoudemire has been in and out of jail throughout Stoudemire's life for charges ranging from drunken driving to drug possession to prostitution.
