They act like it's against the law to heckle the refs, the league need to start giving stiffer penalties to the refs like they do the players,the refs get away with way to much like they are untouchable
a) it didn't look like he "threw a ball AT him". he tossed it to him. Karla Malone did that to fans all the time. Other refs have done it. Rafer has done it. b) How do you know when it was said? Maybe the guy didn't say anything worth being removed until after he had the ball in his hands. c) If he said something like "If you make one more bad call, I'm going to run out on the court and stab you", is that grounds for being removed? Or is that something that he shouldn't take personally? Because fans can say anythign they want to refs? You don't know what happened, and neither do I. But to throw it all on DeRosa without the facts is ridiculous. And to say he has to just ignore everything that's said is also ridiculous.
DeRosa stepped over the line. It must be tough, but you can't let them get to you. At the same time, fans think they can say the most insane things in the stands that they would never say to a person on the street. I think they can take it too far sometimes.
If I were the fan, I'd keep the ball and sit down. don't fans have the right to keep the ball like in baseball if they catch it in the stand?
