    No, I don't think so. He's a great player, an all-star, but he isn't a franchise player.

Pierce gets his points off iso's, ray allen is a catch and shoot player, anyone can pass him the ball and hell score.

He only makes the bigs look good

He is borderline right now. However, there is no reason to think he shouldn't be if he continues the steady improvement that he has shown every year. If he improves his shooting, there is nothing that would lead me to believe that he can't be a 20+ ppg, 8+ apg guy who is exemplary at controlling the tempo of the game and orchestrating his team.

While he's amazing defensively, and a great facilitator and he plays hard every game, I'm not sure whether he can lead a team without any support.

He has the skills though. It's hard to tell with the talent that he's surrounded by.

If Rondo is the best player on your team, you can forget about the ring. When Garnett, Pierce and Allen are gone, he won't look so good. It's easier to look good with Garnett than with Scalabrine. :)

Seems like he is already the best player on a team that features Garnett, Pierce, Allen. I would say that probably makes him a franchise player.

It makes me sick that f-k tard Kevin McHale allegedly declined Ainge's initial offer of Rondo & Jefferson for Garnett, only to wait a year, see the market for Garnett lose bidders and start to dry up, (DUH!) and then be forced to accept Jefferson & Telfair instead.

Celtic Pride? Or just pure stupidity.

    hmm, lets see...

a great young PG thats already a proven winner at a very young age, tested at every scenario in the NBA and has been successful, a floor general with great leadership, the best defensive PG in the game, one of the premier playmakers

so yea I think Ill say hes a franchise player, especially where PG is the hardest position to play.. my fave PG in the game

I've been singing his praises lately, and believe me I didn't want to (he tore up my Cavs). He's very close. He's definitely the best player on the Celtics and that's no small feat. I'd need to see a little more to be totally convinced though.

Put this guy on a team by himself, with no other superstars (a la Steve Francis and the Rockets) and you will see his weaknesses magnified.

Paul Pierce, Garnett, and Allen are really taking a lot of pressure off Rondo allowing him to penetrate and drive more effectively since all the attention is on all or at least one of the big three...

Great player... but not a franchise player.

With the exception of his lack of an outside shot, Rondo is every coach's wet dream for a PG. Lets take a look at what the brings to the table:

    - Great perimeter D
    - Penetrates at will
    - Great knack for positioning for boards
    - Great floor general
    - Accurate passer
    - A triple double threat for every game

Lowry really needs to start basing his game more off Rondo's considering neither player can shoot for crap.

Billups was the best player on the Pistons ... didn't make him a franchise player.

He's already the best PG in the league IMO.

Now ask me if CP3,D Williams, Nash are franchise players.

    pretty much how i feel.

i respect rondo's game but we haven't seen how he would operate if the defense shifts and loads on him and forces players around him to beat them like what the Celtics did to wade.

you cant do that with the celtics because of the big 3. it gives rondo room to operate. you cant load on rondo because you still have to respect ray allen, paul peirce, and kg.
