Dirk and LeBron would play really well together. Hollinger wrote about it, and I agree that their styles would be very complimentary. If Cuban somehow swings this, I can't see the Mavs not winning a title in the next few years. That's got have some appeal to LeBron if he leaves, not to mention the lack of state taxes.
Where's Les Alexander? Is he poorer than Michael Heisley? Wow! I thought he was the sports owner of the decade?
the lakers would give up kobe if they know lebron is willing to come to the lakers, that's how much everybody wants lebron.
Okay that's good, if Lebron wants to just win (which some are saying) and doesn't mind living in Texas....why not come to a younger Rockets team that has OVER achieved and actually has upside? Mavs have been underachievers, does Lebron want to play with teammates that play great in the regular season than fold again? Or does he want to play with Scola, Brooks, Lowry, Yao, players that stepped up big time when the playoffs rolled around? Just something to think about, only if Lebron said "I want to win above all else, and I don't mind playing in Texas" Those other two texas teams are on the downswing, the Rockets are on the up. Lebron would have a much larger window to win here then the Spurs and he'd have a great GM that is all about adding depth and striking pure fear in the hearts of 29 other GMs when they see his name on the caller ID.
Who do you guys think can offer a better package, Dallas or Houston and does Lebron have a say in which team he wants to be traded to?
Maybe I'm an idiot, but in a trade for Lebron, I don't get the value of Dampier's contract. Yes, by waiving the thing, Cleveland can save cap space - but they can save cap space just by simply letting Lebron walk. Consequently, from my perspective, its just a form of super-expiring contract in the end. In order for a sign and trade to be even remotely feasible in return, Cleveland has to get something valuable back, particularly since Lebron is not capable of signing with Dallas and Ferry has some leverage. We understand this on our end, which is why in our Bosh hunt, we're willing to give up good prospects such as Chase or Hill or valuable draft picks. Aside from Beaubois, Dallas has absolutely nothing to offer in the form of prospects. First round picks are worthless since it's well known teams don't even particularly want extremely late first rounders which would be the result of a Dallas trade. Butler would be interesting, but if Lebron is gone, they need to rebuild, and he won't help there. Furthermore, unlike say a Bosh departure, Lebron departing the Cavaliers would be the hardest blow that franchise has ever taken. I really do not think the Cleveland front office would want to be complicit in a trade that sent him away, and so I suspect Lebron is the one superstar who if he leaves would actually head somewhere via free agency. So I don't get how Dallas is a threat at all towards this.
Just the thought...where's the puking gif when u need it. Would hate to see the mavs finally make it to the next level, my friends are going to be talking about this now non stop till lebron finds a home. Bah....dfans.
I'd murder 200 infants if Lebron went to the Mavs. No need to give the people of Dallas any more undeserved egotism. But, they would probably still lose to a number 8 seed in the first round, even with Lebron, which would be pretty sweet. Dumb article tho, I read it yesterday. One of his reasons is because Lebron is a Cowboys fan... Really? That's a selling point?
