Cousins is a poor defensive player, he blocks shots, but his actual defense is very bad, he dosen't rotate or show well on screens. Plus his lateral quickness is subpar. This team doesn't need to get any worse defensively and we don't really need his offense.

Cole Aldrich doesn't have the offensive potential of Cousins. But he's as good or better at everything else, and a lot less of a mental question mark, so I would prefer him.

Without question. Players like Cousins don't come around too often.

Exactly. I might get flamed here, but I'm gonna say he has the potential to be Tim Duncan offensively.

I guess they could, but Cousins is more of a center than a power forward that would make more sense to them.

He has all of Duncan's physical tools. But he isn't even on the same planet with Duncan's work ethic, commitment, or Basketball IQ.

He's a lazier, uncoachable version of Duncan

    He' Al Jefferson.
He'll score,he'll get numbers, but he won't win.

I know many bought the ESPN Greg Oden hype, but it was clear who was the better player before the draft.

Nobody wants Brand, Dalembert is expiring and he will re-sign for much less.

Now why would you get rid of a great offensive/defensive player who is signed for a fair price? He's young and talented. I hate saying this, but Turner is still just a rookie who could end up being a Michael Beasley type player. He does turn the ball over way too much. Other than that he is a perfect draft prospect.

Cousins would be a godsend. He's a knucklehead but he can play. He's young, he has all the physical tools and he will be an absolute BEAST in this league.

Favors is way too raw for Morey to give up valuable pieces for. Cousins doesn't have the demeanor of a Morey sort of player.

I'm thinking more along the lines of Aminu, Monroe, or Motiejunas.

I don't know. Only Wall and Turner seem to be superstar material. I don't know why we would want to trade away some assets for players like Cousins and Favors who are not a sure thing. I'd rather concentrate on using the assets to get some big fish FA.

That said, I trust Morey judgment on how to use the assets. So I am not worried. This trading up to #3 and #4 may just be some smokescreen.

No way in hell yao is going to be playing more than 20 - 25 min a game. Hes just not ready.. I wouldnt be surprised if adelman doesn't even start yao. The man is just not ready to play 38 mpg. He hasn't played since the playoffs at the end of the 08' 09' season and he still hasn't completely recovered from his surgery.

Nets send Devin Harris and the #3 for Brooks and the #14?

    Could be interesting.

I thought he had the surgery in 2001, which would have made it the 2001-02 season where he played 21.5 mpg as his come back. The surgery was in 2000 and came back at 25.6 mpg.

I was not talking about 5 years after the come back. I was talking about actually "coming back", when he starts playing again.

You don't have any examples of guys coming back from that surgery playing 30 minutes. Don't say Zydrunas. He came back playing 25.6 mpg.

    eh????

    Harris > Brooks
    3 > 14... it is.

Why would NJ even think of doing that?

So size doesn't always beat athleticism. That's what I was saying.

That works out great. Lopez plays more like a PF than a C.

Rockets do have more than 1 player or pick to trade, especially after getting rid of T-Mac. It's not one or the other.
