My kid went to a new school this year. He is 6 and the curriculum is very challenging. Although adjustments are difficult right now, he is not giving up and not b****ing either. Having said that, I think that my son is what I am most proud of right now. However, being the narcissist that I am, I'm sure I'll come up with something about me before this thing is done. Ballas? Shotcallas?
I'm most proud of my grades and behavior in school. As far as I can tell, I've always made all A's and a few B's. (maybe 2 or 3.) I'm in 10th grade, btw. I was also proud of my record: I had no referrals and no detentions. (however, if you read my "I hate school" thread, you will find out that will no longer be true.) I hate school.
Without a doubt, my kids: ages 18, 16, 3 and 1. My oldest is off to college and my youngest is about to be weaned.
I think I'm proudest of the fact that I decided to become a vegetarian when I was 18 and I've remained one for the past 14 years. It was not a popular choice with my friends and family at the time, but I stayed with it. What makes it even sweeter is just last week I was talking to my mom and she told me (for the first time, mind you) how proud she was of me for making up my mind and sticking to it even when everyone was telling me I was nuts. She said she wished she had that kind of determination. I felt pretty darn good.
I did indeed (LOL),and in high school I looked like a Bigfoot. Had to shave too. Keep up the good work, and keep us "post"ed!
Well...no kids to be proud of. 3 ex's...nothing to be proud of there. I use to be proud of my bar back in the 80s...until the tips turned white. My guitar playing use to be something to be proud of... I GOT IT!!! My little business which came about without me planning it. Yea, I'm proud of my luck. RR
with out a doubt my 2 kids (2 year old girl & 5 month old boy). Second would be my wonderful wife, but if you asked her she would say after the kids it would be the big screen HD TV she just bought me.
I made both Distinguished Honor Graduate and MasterBlaster in 13F AIT. (for those who don't know Army stuff, that's "top of the class" and "he gets first-round hits on everything he's trying to blow up"...). I pretty much never brag about personal accomplishments, but that was awesome - few people ever get both of those in my particular training (which is basically almost SF). I have only met one other guy who did get both. I am definitely proud of that. I am also an Honor Grad from UH, and have a 4.0 in my grad work so far (15 hours left - will I ever finish it?). But the Army honors are much more important to me, as the work/training was *far* more challenging than anything I've encountered in civilian life/academic environments. Aside from that, I'm a dirtbag who has nothing to be proud of.
Thanks for posting that, Mrs. JB. I just came to this thread to read about other folks' kids and other accomplishments. Wasn't planning to post. But I'm proud of my diet, too. Vegetarian since 87, vegan since 93. And I feel good about it, too. Thanks for reminding me.
I would say I'm proud of my ability to learn from life everyday. Take for instance, why my name isn't dTown333 anymore. "Life Is Freedom." -Dallas Thomas III, January 2002
I am most proud of my kids. My beautiful little girl age 1 mo. And my son age 9, who made starting QB of the Jr. Packers and making Honor roll and principal's list this year.
The thing I'm most proud of is my Computer Science Degree from Texas A&M, and the job I landed as a result of the four years of hard work.
My 5 year old daughter, Haley. She is my angel, my inspiration, and changed every facet of my life. I feel blessed.
Wow my homeboy who is military says you are the s**t! As for the UH thing I was cast out into the abyss of academic suspension in my Jr. year, and I am quite sure that I AIN'T NEVER GOIN BACK! Ms. JB I tried to go veggie for 8 mos and it killed me! I did go for 2 years without red meat, but now I'm the carnivore from hell!
