russell doesn't care.... he proved his dominance for 39 days, but his game is at the cost of relationships... and he doesnt mind that at all he knows that the survivor audience thinks he is one bad ass son of a gun... and thats all that matters to him, so in his eyes, he is the winner and the mvp
I've watched them all and yeah she was pretty undeserving also but Sandra was worse I think. The only redeeming thing Sandra did was boldly tell Russel the whole time she was against him and not get voted out.
Well from looking at comments such as the blog of Jeff Probst's, it seems like there's a debate whether or not Russell playing two seasons back to back created an advantage for him or not. Because if he had time to reflect and watch, so would have all the other 19 contestants, and I am sure that Russell would had been voted out in the first tribal council if the rest of the contestants saw his gameplay in Samoa. But the counter argument to that is that Russell being an unknown to everyone, may have been voted out early anyway. In the end, I feel that it worked both ways. I guess in the end he figured that since everyone was a survivor veteran, that they would "respect" his strategy and gameplan. But I still feel that if he didn't blow the final tribal, he may have had a chance.
She was the last one left in her alliance pre-merge and she survived all the way to the end. She would have been gone pre-merge if she hadn't manipulated Russell to get rid of Coach. I think people underestimate her. Russell obviously did. He thought she would only get one vote and she got the majority. People can say she was underserving, but that was a flaw in Russell's game for underestimating her chances in front of a Jury.
how about outlasting 2 other alliances? she's the last remnant of boston rob's alliance, and made it her point to try to get russell out to avenge her alliance, though she did not get russell out, she won the final vote, because she did no wrong to the jury, and even played the 'i even tries to help you guys' card
Unfortunately, I really don't think Russell having a chance to watch his first season would have changed his game play. He is what he is. Sandra was the only person not bullied by Russell. Burning his hat was a master stroke.
To be honest, Sandra only got to the final three because Russell is a r****d for thinking that she would not get any votes at all, and that she is a no threat in the challenges.
The problem with Sandra's game play was that when the chips were down pre-merge she had no game play. And this is the problem with the game. Sure you can go into the game and say I am not going to piss anyone off and then hope that you aren't a target. In the end people just despise russell because they cannot fathom that a little troll like that could be so thoroughly smarter than them that they think he is the devil. In a real survival situation the strongest survive, but in this game it is the coattail person that survives. The only time it didn't happen that way was Richard Hatch's season.
in a real survival situation... russell would have had his brains beat out by day 3, boston rob would have took a sht in his mouth
I don't understand why everyone is complaining about the game being flawed, it is what it's always been and when people are going to be involved emotions are going to be as well. This show has always had that aspect and Russell can't get it into his head that you can slash and burn the whole way through and not expect blowback. Pavarti was far more deserving of a winner and that double Hidden Idol reveal was a huge moment that really lead to the Heroes downfall.
I agree that russell played half the game great but he failed on the other half of getting votes. I think Parvarti deserved to win, great at strategy, challenges, etc and I didn't think she was too polarizing although aligning with Russell cost her by association. But I can understand Sandra winning and have to give her credit as well. She did a good job of playing both sides and keeping the target off of her. It was a good season even thought the endings are always a letdown, they needd to figure out a way to fix that. What season was coach on? I'd like to watch that one. He is the biggest moron tool. Very entertaining.
Huh? Sandra only stuck around because there were greater threats to Russell's continued existence in the game that needed to be taken out ahead of her. So, really, it wasn't that Sandra wasn't "bullied": it's that she was such a complete non-factor that she was put on the back-burner. Ok, this makes no sense whatsoever. It wasn't a "master stroke". It didn't affect the game at all. They were done competing by that point, and were just going to the TC. It was mean, petty, vidictive, based on personal spite and had NOTHING at all to do with the game. Make no mistake, Russell made all kinds of douchebag moves. But at least he made each of them within the context of trying to advance himself within the game. Sandra was just being a b!atch.
He was on Survivor: Tocantins if I remember correctly, he's much more "interesting" on that one than on this season.
Okay, maybe my post was improperly worded. Not a master stroke in any strategic sense, but in light of the fact that she won, it was poetic justice for some of the crap Russell pulled earlier.
Well, that's a big part of playing the game well. There are many different ways to make it to the final three. You don't always have to be good at challenges or be the player that is making all the decisions. I think one thing that really helped Sandra was that she reached out to the Hero tribe right after the merge. I think the Hero members on the jury saw Sandra as one of their own, and regret not listening to her in her attempts to vote off Russell.
once again, you have real trouble with reading comprehension. I actually find Coach to be a pompous ass who isnt half as good as he thinks he is....What I said is that I agree with him re: Ethics while playing counting for something in the end. Re: Russelll Half of playing the game is knowing how to get jury votes while still doing what you want done out there.....this is something he fails MISERABLY at. He can keep playing this game as often as he wants, but till he changes that aspect of his game, all he will ever come away with is the 100K second prize. btw...Royals. Dont bother responding to me. You simply arent worth my time to have to correct you every damn time.
What did russell do that was so unethical? I hear this all the time, but I still don't understand it. Coach is mad that he lost his woman to Russell in inexplicable fashion. Was that Russell's fault that it she chose to allign herself with the strongest guy. No. The only thing I can think of which was even considered unethical was when he told parvati and danielle the same story to turn them against each other, but russell only even considered that after Parvati withheld vital information from him. Until that happened, both parvati and danielle were safe. Russell isn't unethical, he is arrogant and that's a BIG difference. All those jury members hide behind the ethical slant when all it is is jealousy, they hate the fact that russell is better then they are. In point of fact, Russell is upfront with everybody. He's not going around scheming and plotting. He'll tell you to your face that you are the next to go. Maybe that's his downfall, but don't come telling me that it is ethics. Please. Is throwing challenges to appear weak ethical? Heck no.
He didn't have to swear on his kids for a lie that was gonna be exposed a round later. Russel was too eager and overconfident. It wasn't enough for him to think he was the smartest, but for others to know he was and make others feel stupid. Like telling Parvati that the reason that he knocked Jeri off was because he knew she would vote for him. Total insecurity. His obnoxiousness rather than his bullying was his biggest downfall.
