They should just change the dam rules for carrying and traveling. nobody really follows them anyway and it might make the game a bit more interesting to watch.
Phil Jackson has gotten the benefits of 'preferential treatment' from the officials with 2 different teams and wouldn't have the rings he has without it. Yes, Jordan got the calls just like Kobe/Shaq do/did. He should probably just shut up and let them hand deliver him another championship...
when phil jackson has to restort to "mind" games, it usually spells a difficult series for the Lakers, especially when the Zen master has to eek out every little advantage he can muster.
oh wow, just lost my respect for him I am not saying that Nash doesn't do it, but that was a cheap shot, especially when your own star player does it too
The NBA should privately warn and then suspend PJ two games next time he says something like this. He has gone too far and they need to make an example out of him. I'm OK with coaches whining about treatment of their own players, but it's wrong when they attempt to manipulate officiating with "pre-emptive strikes" against specific opposing players. PJ should be singled out for punishment because he is so far out ahead of all other coaches in this regard. Please understand I'm not defending NBA officials either.
He does this every series if the opposing team has a star player. He said something about Durant, but I forgot exactly what it was. I bet someone has already mentioned it in the thread... Here it is... "As far as the calls that he [Durant] gets on the floor, I think a lot of the referees are treating him like a superstar; he gets to the line easy and often,"
Yeah him and KG were whining about KD. Anyhow, back on this.. WojYahooNBA RT @paulcoro: Nash on jax saying he carries ball: "The best coach in the league, Gregg Popovich, didn't have a problem with it last week."
They should have scaling penalties for criticizing ref calls in interviews. We all know PJ does this everytime, and a small slap on the wrist fine is hardly a deterrent. If however, penalties/fines get worse and worse, or say it works like technicals and if he amasses x number of offenses in a given amount of time, he should be suspended for a game. That would actually work to keep PJ's mouth shut. Quit complaining, and thank your stars you were given several all world players.
Okay, I already loved Nash, but this takes him to a whole new level of awesome. Phil just pretty much got slaughtered at his own game.
it would be funny that in the first game they called Kobe (or any Laker) for carrying the ball, that would be priceless haha
