Thanks, Sir Jackie. I did register in 99, posted once or twice and then shut up for three years, content to lurk daily -- nay, hourly -- never saying a word. Seems out of character now, no? There were enough great posters here and I felt like anything I had to say would be said by someone else. (I never came to the Hangout until I started posting, by the way, or things might have been different.) It was the Yao Ming debate that finally dragged me out of lurk mode. That and heypartner's constant threats to post a poem that I apparently wrote in high school. Apparently it was published in one of my yearbooks and he claims to have a copy. Don't know if it's true, but ******* better safe than sorry. So for those who enjoy my posts, thank ElGrandeQueso for his ridiculous Yao Ming Sucks posts and for those who hate my posts, blame heypee. Wouldn't be the first time...

Thanks a lot Mrs. JB, a compliment coming from a poster like you means something. My take on me is this: I come into most debates with strong opinions but also an understanding that they are just that, opinions. I know I could be wrong and am willing to hear any and all opinions that disagree with mine. I think the BBS would be a lot better place if more posters had this attitude.

Now, lets talk about a new poster that I enjoy reading. Refman seems to be the popular choice, and for good reason I think. His opinions and mine rarely, if ever, are the same about most issues yet he is able to voice them without being an over-bearing ass. Keep posting refman, you're one of the good ones.

Hey Batman, let me ask you a question. I, like you, registered a couple of years ago and then lurked for quite a while before I started posting with any regularity. How do you think it has affected you as a poster? I think I benefitted from just watching for a while and think a lot of the new guys would benefit from some good old fashioned lurking. Just wondering what you think.

Why does no one read my sig? I feek like SonicsGM, except it with a soft drink. :(

I actually think RC tastes ok. To me, it tastes about the same as Coca-cola, and is cheaper, I think. But, as my sig says, I no longer drink that. I have seen the light, and now drink the pure, healthy, spring water. :)

Sure, I could change my name, but I don't want to bother Clutch with my mistake. And I don't want Ozarka as a name anyway.

Plus, I've grown attached to this name. I'm sure most like only typing RC when they are talking to me. I know I wouldn't want to type "EddieGriffinandRockets#1 fan." That's a bit much, imo. :)

Wow...the popular choice? Me???!!! Maybe I should make that Justice of the Peace run I had been thinking about while I'm still hot.

In all seriousness, thank you very much for your comments. May we always disagree in a civil and rational manner. Maybe we will BOTH learn a little something that way.

    I think you're right.

I also think plenty of people jump right in and kick ass. But I know it was better for me to get a feel for the board first. This board is very special, but it would be easy to screw it up. Reading for a while first, getting a feel for the personalities of the board and the posters, was very valuable to me. In fact, it was only the recent influx of new posters who clearly had NOT been around which moved me to start posting -- specifically because I felt some of them were dumbing down the debate.

I sort of did that. I started reading the BBS about the time we won the No.1. When Clutch had to make everyone register, I registered just to read. Read for some time, maybe a month. Then it got pretty quiet. I though maybe I should post something. So I did.

In a lot of my posts, I use some pre-used arguements that I had read during that time. If someone said Cat wasn't good, I'd remember that one thread which had his stats compared to other SG's. If someone dissed Yao, I'd argue with them using facts I read from other posters.

    I guess I'm nothing but a big copy-cat. :)

MAN! I forgot one of the most important ones of them all: Htownhero, my fellow Tool enthusiast. BTW Htown, the concert in Austin was the greatest show I will ever see! Too bad you missed the one in Atlanta:(

P.S.- I love the aEnima title track reference in your sig:)
