I have no problem, but saying "Death to" a cartoonist?

    LOL - talk about overeaction.....

One would wonder what Mohammed himself would say? Is that addressed in the Khoran?

I agree the reaction is tasteless.

Glad to hear you find the cartoon tasteless though. You had me fooled.

    Just curious. Is that offensive?

Here is a link to 3 translations of the Quran:

    http://www.usc.edu/schools/college/crcc/engagement/resources/texts/muslim/quran/

I'm sure that if it matters, you will look it up. In reality though, it appears that you only want to know if it says something bad.

You will have noticed that, if one person was able to find one verse about poor practice of limiting free speech, it would have been splashed all over the place by now. If one person could find that the Quran promotes violence in these circumstances, they would have splashed it everywhere.

If you run into something you don't understand, feel free to ask. In all honesty/sincerity, and I say this without any venom at all, I have found that your quite trigger happy when it comes to criticism of the Quran but are not interested in finding out much, if anything about what's in it. For that reason alone, I'm letting you know where you can get the most popular translations rather than do the research and feed it back, knowing that it will only be used if derogatory.

That is sort of why I asked, what does it say about such things?

Does it say to kill someone for making a rude picture?

    No it does not.

This is an order from God to show how the Prophet PBUH should respond to harsh verbal attacks, lies, rumors, etc.

Celebrate here means read the Quran, or pray, etc. It basically means to celebrate the faith you have in the advice God has given you. The context is that, in Arabia at that time, everything was settled through bloodshed, torture, mass burning of villages, rape, looting, kidnapping, etc.

    /end

I have a question. How would you feel if I (not anyone, me in specific, with full access to a copy of the constitution) asked if it's ok to rape little children according to the US constitution?

I don't agree with your "cartoon tasteless" = "reaction tasteless" wording. Calling them both the same is a cheap trick.

I actually don't find the cartoon tasteless, just badly drawn. I think we should all draw another one to see if we can draw better than that and to express our solidarity with the cartoon artist, and to show that we will not let extremists take away our freedom of speech.

I will draw one on May 20th and will post it here.

You think DaDakota actually reads your responses.? He's just here to troll. Anytime someone actually contradicts him or honors his **** replies with a dignified one, he just runs away like a coward sniping one-liners as he fades away from the topic. Get real bro. DaDakota = Sasha Vujacic of the D&D.

Certainly the reaction is far away in a higher tasteless category.

I was interested as you found the Finnish cartoon tasteless, but not this one. Before you repeat it like a record player, I know that 6m Jews died in the holocaust and the Prophet died ages ago. It is just a matter of causing offense to something that a group of people are emotional about.

Reactions are definitely the sour part of all this.. But your reaction to each cartoon is certainly interesting to me.

I would tell them of course it isn't...and think they were stupid for asking it, but I would not threaten them with anything.

Hah, of course I read it.

I still feel the same about the religion...but at least I respect people's right to their own beliefs, just don't push it off on others...

Is that so tough to understand?

What do you think of this young lady of the Muslim Students Association? Does she represent what other members of this association think?

I personally don't find that picture offensive to me..... but then again I am not Muslim. Just because it is not offensive to you doesn't mean it can't be offensive to other people.

I think freedom of speech must be protected and in this case the cartoonist have every right to make these drawing, but he really should have thought about the repercussions from this before hand and the danger he is putting himself, his family, and our soldiers in the Middle east due to these drawings.
