Not a good fit, they need a big man, not another two guard. Miami cannot handle this wade situation at all. They had a chance to send Beasley for Amar'e anf finally pair wade with what he needs-a big man, and they passed it up. Now they're blowing the only chance they have to get a big man to play with D-Wade.

Maybe they know something we don't? Maybe Wade is gonna leave and JJ is his replacement.

The most important fact about this new is:

Miami wants to see Johnson in Heat!

I'll take action on the raise thing BEAT LA.
Ray Allen will not get a raise on his $20m/yr salary. If you disagree, I'll bet you $20 to the tip jar. And I mean annual salary raise.

Hell, I'll also take action on the new contract. And it will be average salary. So if Allen signs for 2 years, 40 million, and Johnson signs for 5 years 50 million, then you would win because Allen would average $20 million per year and Johnson would average $10 million per year. So that's another $20 tip jar bet because I think Johnson will have a higher yearly salary than Ray Allen.

Of course, you could just refuse to bet, open your eyes, and realize you've been brain farting with those ridiculous assertions. Or you could stay stubborn and contribute to this great site.

Miami would still need a reliable big man that's not a complete and utter flake (sorry, JO and Beasley), but JJ would be a solid addition for the Heat. He could spot up, play off the ball more and run the offense for stretches whenever Wade normally would thereby allowing Wade to play off the ball a bit too. He's smart, plays good defense and would overall be a good fit.

As a Hawks fan, obviously my first choice would be for him to stay in Atlanta but at this point I wouldn't be surprised if he elected to move on. He seems frustrated and probably now realizes he can't be "the man" on a winning team. Given the limited resources the Hawks have it's very unlikely the Hawks will do the smart thing and trade for another star. Maybe he figures if Atlanta can't get it done (something they've proven during his 5-year stint save the Crawford trade), maybe he figures he can just sign elsewhere and be guaranteed the opportunity to play next to another star rather than wait around for Atlanta to finally realize what's been so painfully obvious for the past two seasons.

Apparently Miami is also interested in Wade:

Here's the bet. If Ray Allen signs a 1 year deal, he will make more for that year than Joe Johnson.

I expected the playoffs to suck overall, and I'm right so far. There was so much hype entering it this season especially in the west. The finals should be good for once.

This NBA off season will be the most interesting thing in the world of sports this year. Next season's should be good too.

This is an easy way out for you since he'll probably get more than just one year.

I think the claim that Allen will get a better contract than JJ is very unlikely as well. However as far as players are concerned I think I'd rather have Allen for his price than JJ for his. You just don't pay as much money as JJ will likely get for a habitual playoff choker.

How much would you pay for a Ray Allen who just turned 36?

How much would you pay for a Ray Allen who just turned 37?

Big difference. He is likely to get a one year deal at this point, but if he signs a two year deal then of course he will take less for the longer commitment.

BaMcMing, I will match you're donation if I win the bet.
