Who gets to the line more than anyone. Martin is 2 years younger than Joe, and is more efficient offensively. The fact that Martin can score though movement and not needing a screen or iso makes him a perfect fit in our offense.
IMO It would be better to stay with a younger player in Kevin Martin than go after overpriced Joe Johnson ... --RB
WINNNNEEERRRRRR JJ is a nice player and probably slightly better player then Kev but do you really want to pay him max money because undoubtedly someone will.
joe johnson suck hes not a big time clutch performer, he didnt even look like a star these playoffs its somethin terribly wrong with that for a guy thinkin hes worth the max Kevin Martin is FAR better and efficient than johnson itll b stupid to get rid of a guy that sleeps to 20-25 point a nite for a guy who struggles mightily to get to 15-18 points a nite common sense.. be careful fallin in luv with big names and hype itll bite ya in tha keester
Kevin martin doesn't know the meaning of clutch. Has he ever made it past the 2nd round in his career? Much less, has he ever played all 82 games in his career?
I think this lindof thing is only successful in video games. A move such as this would wreck both team chemistry and the rockets plans for the future. Think twice before acting and you nay have a happier life, my friend.
Do you think this is NBA Live? Our team isn't going to win a championship just because we pick up Johnson, Bosh, Miller, Miller, Bell while stomping all over our core. We need to keep the core in place and add some pieces.
with Martin ,we are not cluth city any more. He can't handle any sg in the west. Just like Monta Ellis.
That's what I'm screamin, yo! Why does everyone think the answer is in a trade? No way we win anything unless we can let our guys have some time together ... so that none feel their spot on the team is in jeopardy ... and actually learn from/about each other. We have TONS of talent ... put it in the crock pot ... let it simmer all summer long ... now that's a spicy meatball!
JJ is not a max player and totally disappeared in the playoffs this year. He's not even close to what we need.
People will be claiming that we can't win a ring without trading for Lebron, Bosh, Gasol, and Wade right up until (and possibly after) we actually do win a championship.
martin disappears in clutch time too fyi... but if joe joe came here he could resume his role as if he was a phx sun. also, after his playoff performance maybe no team will pay him the maximum and he'll just have to settle.. that's a big maybe though
There is a lot a trade proposals in the threads discussing trades where you swap players off the Rockets bench + picks for studs on the other team. Unless you feel the other team is going to totally rebuild those trades are not likely to happen. Memphis and the Clippers are one of those teams that will give away talent for potential. If the player we are seeking is an aging player, meaning approximately 30 or older then those trades are also possible as the other team may want to rebuild with young talent. A sign and trade of Bosh maybe more realistic cause Toronto maybe seeking to rebuild. Then again Bosh maybe free to go anywhere.
