Simple Question It seems to me they should try to run more. Having Lebron stand out there and take jumpshots really doesn't take advantage of all his strengths. Shaq painfully slows down the gam with the "crab dribble". On the other hand, Shaq's offense is pretty effective when he's not lumbering. And lets say they get past Boston, which is obviously no given. Can Shaq really do anything to neutralize Howard. Howard isn't realied upon on offense as much and shaq doesn't help with help side defense he's so slow now. can his offense occupy howard and allow other to drive to the basket.
He'll payoff vs LA. If they get there. And that is all that matters. Just like Artest will payoff vs Cleveland.
God he is old! It seems like even his eyebrows and goatee are graying. Also, I never knew he has so many wrinkles.
Shaq will only help when they play Dwight Howard. As long as he puts Howard in foul trouble like he has in the reg season, the cavs will beat the magic
Even before Shaq got there The Cavs were still more of a slow paced team. Has a lot to do with with Mike Brown's style of play.
Uhhh... i can only imagine it now.... hack a dwight... clank...hack a shaq... brick...hack a dwight... and it goes on and on and on.....
They got Shaq specifically to wrestle w/ Howard and neutralize them. And he will do that. Howard's offensive game is still woefully underdeveloped and he isn't nearly strong enough to power through Shaq.
The Cavs traded for Shaq for one reason and one reason only: Dwight. There's maybe 3-4 big men in the league that Dwight isn't physically capable of bullying around. Shaq happens to be one of them. Of course, beating Boston to actually advance would be a start. Edit: Beat me by a couple seconds, amaru
The Cavs got Shaq for two reasons: 1. Dwight Howard (Shaq can at least match some of Dwight's production) 2. The Lakers (Gasol's and Bynum's against the Cavs this year were terrible, as I spoke on the other day. They struggle against bigger frontlines - hence Shaq with Hickson and Big Z, now Antwan Jamison). Shaq gets them in alot of foul trouble, like Yao does, especially Bynum.
He kinda looks like a statue but it's all intentional I'm sure. Lebron is so well rounded that any one style will usually be wasting some part of his ability.
I don't think Shaq's the problem - Mike Brown is. Barkley nailed this one on the head - why would the much younger and more athletic Cavs not run the Celts out of the gym? That's when James is at his best, which means that's when the team's at their best. Questionable coaching strategy to say the least...
