back in pride they wouldn't score takedowns if you didn't do anything with it. i think that is the way to solve the problem of excessive takedowns and laying on your opponent.
I think it's ridiculous some of you want to take out the wrestling and scoring of takedowns. This is MMA, if the stand up guys want to win more, become a well rounded fighter. Boring or not it's here to stay. MMA and the fighters are always evolving, soon you will see a fighter or two that are exceptional at something other than wrestling, and the sport and or fighters will follow suit to catch up to said fighters, but I don't think you will see drastic rule changes. I don't want to turn this sport into boxing, then it would become boring IMO. I love this sport because of the difference of styles. There isn't much I would change at this point

He's probably the best pure MT striker in the sport right now. Very famous for his use of elbows. He had a fight vs Anderson Silva's MT trainer and absolutely wrecked him to the point where he had to be taken out on a stretcher.
Why? I would want Fedor to fight someone that is an all around good MMA fighter. Maybe like Carwin or Cain. Kimbo would get knocked out....fast.
There is no reason yet to say that Carwin is an all around good MMA fighter yet. All he's really had to display is his vicious punching.
