Could Rondo stay star caliber on the hornets??.....IDK but CP3 can.... Nash is old and still in the talk for best so that says something....and he swept the spurs...who get it done come playoff time..... Im gonna say.... Spoiler
Chris Paul has been shooting about 49-50% from the field for the last 3 seasons, and making 3pt shots at about 36-40% with around 1 make a game. Deron William's FG% has been inferior to this guy who you think can't shoot. Paul also grabs more rebounds, makes more assists, and steals the ball more than twice as much as Deron does.
Nice use of spending your time on Wikipedia to prove a poster wrong. But yeah, I'll admit I was wrong. Stats don't always tell the whole story though. Just saying.
*I did mean to say jumpers though. Rondo usually relies on layups, while Paul has floaters and layups to go along with jumpers. But that is beside the point. Aside: Watching Williams shoot just seems so pure.
to me it's gotta be Deron Williams, he just have the hole package for a point guard: the shooting, passing, vision, footwork, power, athleticism and not to mention the intelligence. if you pay close attention to his match-ups against Chris Paul last season like I did you'll find Chris Paul hardly had anything on D-Will except during transition while Deron Williams took physical advantage to size him up most of the time. just another thing to bring up, Rondo? really?? you don't need a top PG to give that kind of stats playing alongside of the big 3 that free you up by taking almost all the attention from the opponents. and don't forget Perkins' ability to keep the opponent big men off his back so his teammates can grab the board with their eyes closed.
Dwill is the only Jazz I can stand and I wish he was on another team. Imagine him on the rocks? Anyways I would have to say Dwill then Cp3 with Nash then Rondo. Nash is awesome thoug, just doesn't play D
I still think CP3 is the best when 100%, however the arguments for D-Will are very much credible and legit. It's a tough call but when CP3's game is "on" I feel he's in a whole different class than everybody else.
Nash. His offense is so ridiculously efficient, offsets his defensive shortcomings. Bird and Magic were not stellar one on one defenders. But they were opportunistic. I'd put Nash in the same category. He's also the most creative and funnest to watch IMO. Then Williams, Paul, Rose ,Rondo in that order.
point guard needs to accelerate in (i) dribble penetration (ii) spot up shot (iii) personal/team defense (iv) playmaking abilities (v) long rebound help (vi) maximizing opportunities during fast break rondo - single handedly keeping celtics in contention, needs to keep on working on the outside shot, not sure if he can create as much in terms of utilizing different passes compared to nash paul - if you program a factory to make a point guard, chris paul is what you get... in the 90s that is.... it seems the nba is shifting more towards point guards who can play the 2. leads the league in steals i believe (at one time at least) but does he gamble for those steals, i don't know. will give you stability at point even if he is shooting badly. williams - if deron williams can loose some more weight and increase his quickness I think he is over chris paul. nash - defensively eliminates him from this group of 4. Conclusion: The best point guard in the nba is rondo with a shot + paul 1 inch taller + williams 10lbs lighter + nash with defense
I think Rondo is very overlooked a lot of the time. He has proven himself in the playoffs averaging a near triple double last year and is clearly the best rebounder of the bunch. None of those other guys can even dream of grabbing 18 boards in a game. If it were not for his outside shooting, he would be the best PG, but right now I would have to say it's Deron Williams. He has surpassed Chris Paul imo, and even though Steve Nash is on the decline, I gotta give props for him playing at such a high level at his age.
