What is Williams doing? The Stros can not afford to blow every 5th game, and he keeps running out that chump Milicki.

Screw pride put his ARSE on the bench and let Munro start at least you have a 50-50 chance of winning with Lima...I mean Milicki you have a 0% chance.

We agree on this one. I started a thread during Mlicki's last start entitled "Mlicki." He's simply awful. His ERA since April 27 is somewhere around 8. It's horrible. I really wish we had made a Paul Byrd deal.

The only time I remember Mlicki being "good" was late last year. He got a couple of wins, and I had hoped he would keep it up.

But I don't think he can. He's been pretty bad this year, from what I've seen. I would have been REALLY happy if we could have gotten Byrd.

Maybe Mlicki could be a good relief man...OW! Don't hit me! :(

The only problem with that is Mlicki is getting roughed up early in the game. He won't do much good as a reliever if he gives up 6 runs his first inning out there.

Uhh... I knew that. Didn't you see my hit referance. That was me saying how much Mlicki would get hit a lot. Gah, read my post.

We've won 2 of Mlicki's 5 starts since he came off the DL. In those two starts, he gave up 0 and 1 run. He's basically 50/50 also.

I actually agree that he is the relative weak link right now. The problem is that we still don't know what Carlos will bring us. If he sucks ass, then Mlicki certainly has to stay in the rotation. Jimy has said Mlicki will get at least one more start, but after that, all bets are off.

I think, more than anything else, Ausmus needs to start catching Mlicki again. He did wonders for him last September and Mlicki credited him very much for helping get him on track.

Then when will Zaun catch? You can't run Ausmus out there everyday of the week, but the problem is...we have no veterans who can pitch on their own.

Its fine for younger pitchers to need guidance, thus Ausmus is perfect for this ballclub. But, the older pitchers should be able to pitch on their own. That's why Shane had Eusebio last year, and Maddux had Perez all those years. C'mon, Mlicki's been in this league for how long? No way he can blame this on "who" is catching him.

A catcher can make the difference regardless whether you've been an All-Star for 16 years. A catcher can call a game playing to the pitcher's strengths.

Besides...Ausmus can catch for the next 2 weeks.

If catchers can turn a pitcher into an all-star, shouldn't they be under consideration when choosing the Cy Young award?

    Maybe its just the catchers...

Just read a few minutes ago in the Chronicle that Mlicki has been replaced by Munro in the rotation effective immediately. I guess Jimy reads the BBS too. :)
