As in, its the economy stupid.

Its not Ginobli or Parker that are gonna make that team champions. Timmy doesn't play well, the spurs don't win. particularly his defense is on a steep decline. I know amare clowned him in 07, but to watch him go by duncan from the same spot on the court whenever phoenix wanted to was kind of sad.

Duncan is thrity four, and parker and ginobli are not nearly enough to replace what he meant to that team, especially on defense. time to break it up before it gets really old.

Duncan will be a Spur for life.

I doubt they give him the Olajuwon treatment :(

Ehh, I wasn't too worried about Duncan's defense. The Suns are going to score, they focus on that side of the ball too much for it not to happen.

The biggest issue was the Spurs' inability to work them in the post and establish their three point shot. I doubt the Lakers have much trouble with that.

One of the biggest problems I saw was their inability to spread out the floor. They have no 3-pt shooters. They wanna play half court, but that team is not designed for half court. Yet its not a fast breaking team either.

I thought that the Spurs would be able to win at least one.

The Olajuwon treatment? That would only happen if Timmy decided that he still wanted to be paid a ton of money despite losing most of his quickness and strength. Hakeem was as much at fault for the Toronto fiasco as the Rox were. He wanted a lot more money than his production warranted, and we had already paid him an obscene amount of money (at the time...and it was obviously well deserved). He also felt that he still had all of his skills, when clearly he didn't.

Still killed me that he didn't retire a Rocket

they need to find a way to keep all of them, but get younger through the draft. if they had a guy like morey who could find gems in the 2nd round maybe they would be okay, but they aint goin into the lottery with pop as their coach, so they aren't going to be able to get a star via draft and they wont get one via trade without dumping tim, jefferson, manu, or parker.

imagine parker jefferson manu and landry...would that team win you think?

Put the right guy next to Duncan and he will be dangerous again.

ummm dude, that was a VERY inaccurate comment. The spurs drafted Manu Ginobili and Dejuan Blair in the 2nd round and took Tony Parker and George Hill in the late 1st round. I would definitely call those picks "gems".

yea what happened to Timmy :( I know he's older but he was never the quickest cat on the block. He missed alot of good shots against the Suns.

Duncan needs to quit the nonsense that he's a 4 ... he's a 5. They need a long rangy mobile 4 to play next to him. Not more swingmen that are supposed to be shooters but can't hit 3's.

They remind me of the '97 Rockets...just not quite good enough and trying to get one last ring...

Most people wouldn't know the name Gregg Popovich if not for Duncan.

Under Greg, they have a stability that almost no other teams have. And yes, Duncan will be a Spurs till the day he retire ala Robinson (the man who will always be remember as the one who got his @$$ whooped on the day he receive the MVP award).

Maybe like the next duncan? He can still be great just not for 82 games+playoffs. Its happening to kobe as well, but he hasen't had to be lead horse like duncan has.
