The OP actually makes a legit point but it's been touched on a lot already. Most importantly, we don't know what are starting backcourt will look like by the start of next season. It could be Lowry/Martin and that would negate a lot of the concerns. Personally, the concept of a Brooks/Martin backcourt worries me quite a bit, particularly defensively. I just don't know how we could get away that and be a contender, regardless of the rest of the lineup. If Ariza is the 3rd guy on the perimeter, forget about it. My biggest surprise with Ariza was how bad of a defender he was and that's saying a lot given his offensive ineptitude. He has good anticipation skills, will get into passing lanes, make defelections and contest a shot here and there with his length but, overall, he gambles a lot, is often out of position and has the same flimsy build as Brooks and Martin. He got eaten alive quite a bit on defense. Yea, he defended Kobe well for a couple of stretches but I'm talking about the other 98% of the time.
I thought the poll choices were hilarious. If this had been your first, and not tenth, poll of such caliber then I think you could have pulled it off.
Oh, I've seen dude's threads. I was just ignoring the obvious and discussing what is actually a legit topic.
Agree, I have to admit that I chuckled at a couple of those options. I hope this semi-compliment doesn't encourage him though.
Stockton, Isiah Thomas were too weak and skinny, but they were amazing! the yare weak, they got fouled, and they are very good in the FT line. and BTW, please dont let this guy start more thread, specially because of his name: kmav23
