my first rocket game outside houston was this. lost my voice that last minute and celebrated with rowdies afterwards. sweetest day ever since i went with my friend who was a diehard spurs fan =D

on topic: hes squatting not benching. so all you guys saying u can do more. i dare u to squat that much after they have restructured your foot. im really digging his improvement and his work-ethic since his injury. and i agree we should use him in the high post. he can shoot the ball real nice. come one yaoooooooo

i'm guessing because Smith machines aren't made for 7'6 humans.
Plus he seems to be doing limited range of motion by sitting on that red thing. We also don't know how much work he has or hasnt been doing. Remember he's been doing work out sitting down for a while now so his body is in decent shape still.

Smith Machine for 7'6" man. Smith Machine also limits motion to one plane of motion with no give. With Yao's long torso, the force would be multiplied.

Jesus chist began healing the sick and raising the dead at age 30. Hakeem did something greater at age 31, and now it's yao's turn.

    those dont count for squats.

he's doing less than 100lbs, what he's doing there is for flexibility etc like chicks at your health club who use a yoga ball to do body-weight chick squats. considering that Yao could easily single-arm curl that weight what he's doing there is equivalent to a normal dude holding a 25lb plate over his head while doing warm up calisthenics

smith machine is **** anyways. what serious athlete would use that? none of the balance and isolation benefits of free weights and more dangerous than using machines

A friend of a friend of mine saw Yao at a foot specialist near by some ice cream place in Sugarland. Yeah I have no proof but take it for it's worth!

I think he is doing box squats, which works the hip flexors. The exercise starts with him sitting on the box. With no momentum, he then drives his hips forward & drives up to a standing position. Compared to a regular squat, there is not a lot of pressure on the knees or back.

Bowling ball is much bigger & heavier than pins that's why pins get rolled over. But is Lowry much bigger & heavier than da YAO?

    Thanks for the pic.

Always good to see Yao working out. Anyone look at that picture with Yao lifting weights can only come away with one conclusion: Dude is a professional athlete.

I say play Yao in the high post if he's fronted & rendered useless to open up the low post for smaller guys. Otherwise keep him in the paint where he's most effective.

Maybe Adelman should limit his minutes to under 30 during the regular season.

I think the box squats' focus is on the hip extensors. He's probably been sitting down a lot so that lengthens his posterior hip/leg muscles and now he needs to strengthen them.

The off-season is so boring....I can't wait for the season to start.
    With or w/out Bosh. ;)
I've never cried before over basketball, but if Yao gets hurt this upcoming season....I just might.
