Listen to Bima and ignore my post. It seems HoopsHype had the wrong salary info for Andersen.

Bima can you explain how the rockets only have to lose one out of the three contracts work mathematically?

I mean Bosh's max contract is prolly going to be around the 17-18MIL range. At 80% of that, we still need 13.6M of contract thrown back to make it work. How much does 1 1st pick count towards salary cap?

Exercise Chuck Hayes Option for 2.3 Million

    Jeffries 6.88
    Hill 2.67
    Anderson 2.50
    Hayes 2.30
    Total 14.35

Toronto would probably just buy out Chuck Hayes.

Yao is not a terrible contract. Injuries can happen to anyone. Brooks can tear his ACL right after we extend him, but that doesn't negate what he does when healthy. Everyone on this board is extremely grateful that Yao is on this team. And he has a chance, although small, to bounce back into top form.

Yes! We don't know YET what is going to happen with Yao.
But if Yao regains his form HE will be our best player for sure, not Brooks.................... :p

I think Yao's days as being the team's best player are long gone.

It seems DD is pretty sure Yao cannot come back, does he have some insider info?

Unless we use him in a trade to upgrade at the PG position, don't trade him!

Also, if you're Daryl Morey, DO NOT INCLUDE HIM IN A S&T FOR BOSH!

It befuddles me when people want to trade our best player like that and not upgrade at the PG position.

Unless we get back Collison, Paul, D-Will, or Stephen Curry, you keep Brooks!

We might end up having to overpay for him.

I heard DD's insider is common sense.

Nope, but when Big Z came back he was not the same, I think Yao will be a good, quality player, but not an elite one anymore.

    Would love to be wrong....

I agree our pg position is set. Being a UCLA alumni however I would not mind getting Collison

I somewhat agree with you on Yao not being able to come back exactly how he left. That being said, Big Z was never as elite as Yao was, so it's not an exact comparison. A diminished Yao is probably still better than Big Z ever was, unless it's a severely diminished Yao, a much bigger decline than Z.

Basically, I don't expect Yao to dominate right off the bat, or be what he once was under JVG before all the injuries. However, if (big if, I know) he is able to come back at all, with better medical treatment than Z received he could still be close to what he once was down the line.

That's my half-full glass take, yours is my half-empty take. I think both are valid possibilities.

Brooks will get 5 years and 47 million. That works out to about 9.4 per season
