Rudy T had some interesting viewpoints on players in his interview. Not exactly quoted, but here is some stuff said: On Darius Miles: "He is extremely explosive and when he finds a seam in the defense, explodes straight to the basket. It looks like he will go No. 3 or No. 4 overall" Palillio adds in: "Kind of like a taller, longer version of Tracy McGrady?" Rudy: "Exactly, that is basically what he is" On DerMarr Johnson: "His body is similar to Darius Miles, he is a solid shooter from the perimeter. He did not show all his skills at Cincinnati and just blended in with the team. He is capable of a lot more like ballhandling, playmaking, etc." On Jerome Moiso: "Moiso is a very skilled player. He did very well shooting from the perimeter in the workout. He shot well from around the horn." He also added something about how Moiso's long arms helped him around the basket despite the fact that he is thin, but I did not quite catch that. On Chris Mihm vs Joel Pryzbilla: "I definitely think that Chris Mihm is far more advanced than Joel Pryzbilla." ------------------ Check out the Best Source for Draft Info Draftsource.net [This message has been edited by MManal (edited June 26, 2000).]
i listened to the interview good post i'm tryign to think if anything you left out ------------------ Shane "Save Our Rockets" "Life without basketball in Houston........without an arena that is what it will be"
talk about not managing expectations. I'd better convince myself that Rudy means that trading Francis for Boston's #11 is a good thing. Otherwise, I'll expect too much. ------------------ get it Tag, get it! - a Jazzhole asking Greg Ostertag to rebound the ball.
Achebe-I could of sworn it meant to LA for #29. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Draft Moiso. Trade Moises. Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
Oh oh. Mirsad Turkcan's brother didn't enter the draft, did he? Rockets giving up way too much ... something is fishy. By the way, does it make sense (again, must stress: PURE SPECULATION) to have a deal done, say with a team like the Clippers, and not announce it until Draft Day? Because it could be contingent upon a player being available at #3 and a certain one at #9? Just curious... Rudy sounds a little too prophetic for my tastes ------------------ NOTHING BUT .NET CLUTCHCITY.NET
I caught Rudy's interview on KPRC. He said Miles may go #1 or #2. He also said Dermarr will not be there for the 9th pick. It did sound as though he had something up his sleeve. A trade to possibly move up? Just a hunch from the way he spoke. ------------------
Clutch-no, it's his long lost half cousin, Turkoglu. That would make sense....what we need is for NJ or Vancouver to have some sort of aneurysm, and draft someone not named "Stromile" or "Kenyon". The Clippers also would be content with Moiso-local boy with potential, who fills a need. Vancouver recently denied a report that they told Swift they'd draft him if he was available. Probably means nothing. ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better. Draft Moiso. Trade Moises. Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.
Actually, he didn't say "something good would happen on draft day," he said, "You never know what could happen," and "most deals happen on the day of the draft". He said he feels "very good" about the arena deal moving forward. ------------------ "No one gets out ALIVE!" SaveOurRockets.com
Thanks, Jeff. There's a HUGE difference between those two statements. One has had me unable to concentrate on anything else for the past few hours besides envisioning K Mart or Swift in our lineup, and the other is a generic little soundbite stating the obvious. (anything can happen on draft day? wow, there's news!) ------------------
Here's more note-I wasn't paying much attention, but it was just mentioned on NBC, that the Rockets draft is Wednesday, and they're trying to move up, and I *think* they said the target was the Bulls, who have the 4th and 7th pick.... ------------------ The more lefties on your team, the better.
