So those are your franchise players huh ? Bosh has never had anywhere near the type of roster those teams have had. Every person on that list excluding Kevin Durant/Brandon Roy has been paired with an All-Star at one point or another. Why don't you give Bosh a supporting cast before you compare him to those players.
No, I mean the best PF in the league. Its not his fault his GM squandered nearly 25 million of their cap space on overrated players who are defensive seives in Calderon, Bargnani, and Turkey Glue. Name me a PF who is better now.
probably because Bosh has been in the NBA for 7 seasons and has only a single winning season. Elite players find a way to get it done, he is a notch below that.
plenty of the guys I listed have played multiple seasons without an all-star and still made the playoffs. YOu can't tell me the Heat were more talented than the Raptors this season. Toronto has had plenty of talent to at least make the playoffs in the east, he can't get it done, simple as that.
Duncan is not better right now, of course in his prim Timmy was the best PF to ever play. Dirk is a HOFamer himself. I think that says a lot about Bosh that he can even be compared to those two skill wise.
You would take 33 year old Duncan over Bosh? Duncan had to be held to 30 minutes a game to try and keep him and healthy, and in the playoffs he has been so up and down probably because he's getting worn out. In his prime, yes, because he's so good defensively, but you're giving up A LOT on the offensive end there. Nowitzki is a fade-away jump shooter that's a proven choker And again, i nhis early 30s. Give me Bosh over both.
Fine. Bosh isn't as good as Wade, or Lebron, or Paul. I've already mentioned this, and I've stated that I don't think Bosh is a franchise player in the sense that those guys are. It is possible that he could be since his support has been so junk, but he's not in the Lebron-Wade-Durant tier. But we have no shot in hell of getting those guys. We have a good chance to get Bosh. That's all that matters. Bosh may not be a franchise player. We don't need him to be one. He is the best player we can realistically get, and so you have to go after him. That's what matters.
Exactly. The question should really be "Does Bosh make this team a contender." thats all that matters. Billups-Hamilton-Prince-Sheed-Wallace were not close to being franchise players. But together they were a contender for a good 5 years. We are really not in the position to be picky.
Dunno about this. You could argue stats, and the fact that Bosh has never had anyone else on his teams to take them to the next level. But why does Bosh have awesome stats? Because he doesn't have anyone else to alleviate scoring and rebounding pressure. Duncan has Parker and Ginobili, yet he still averages 19 pts / game. Nowitzki has Terry, Marion, Butler, all of whom require the ball in their hand to be effective, and still averages almost 27 pts / game. Again, I'll give you stats, but both Duncan and Nowitzki have MVPs, and more importantly, have gotten to the biggest stage in the game. Based on that, I'll take Duncan and Dirk over Bosh. Flame, quote me in disgust all you want, but this is my opinion.
His team has always sucked, and he's had good role players. so heck no he's not a franchise player at all. actually only slightly better than Scola
Dirk is a much better player than Bosh currently. Lol @ fade away jump shooter. The guy has no flaws in his game at all anymore - after GS exploited his weakness in the mid-post, he ironed out that flaw in his game. He's now one of the greatest players in the mid-post in NBA history. The guy is now completely unstoppable on the offensive end. He just put up 25/8/3 on 55/57/95% shooting. His 3 point shooting was higher than Shaq's FG %. Think about that. Dirk's supporting cast is so great that his entire team was shooting ~30% against the Spurs. Please just don't bring up supporting casts - it makes you look ignorant. Anyone who calls Dirk a choker is talking out of their ass. Especially when comparing him to Chris Bosh. Lol @ getting upset by the Nets and sent home by VC. It's too bad Dirk plays on the Mavs. Should have shipped T-Mac's ass out for Dirk in '05 while his value was still high.
Dirk is a much much much better player than Chris bosh. How many times has bosh made all-nba team? If Dirk is an American, he would have already won the title in 2006.
I have a question: If we can trade for Bosh....why not go for Lebron??? If Lebron says he want to come here and win a Championship like Bosh did...what can the Cavs do??? Sign and trade right??? If Lebron is not winning a Championship this year...i am sure he's sick and tired of staying at Cleveland. So wouldn't the Cavs force to do a sign with us then?
