The other side of the argument is whether Toronto would even consider the Rockets' offer vis a vis other teams.
i disagree..did you see the way ab shot the ball and how many 3s he nailed?..we have to keep him to make this work, lowry is a good player but cannot shoot..this reminds me of how the pistons traded away billups to let stucky take over..didnt work!! we have to keep ab at all cost..
Quick off topic question; doesn't Yao have a player option for this offseason? If he does, then what's to stop Bosh from telling Toronto, that he wants to goto Houston and if they don't do a fair sign and trade then he will just outright and sign with Houston if Yao takes his option to resign at a extended contract? I think Yao would be all for it to get another star player to play beside him and having longterm security.
Yeah I know, I love AB and would love to keep him, but I just think DM can overcome losing AB easier then losing Scola. Plus Rando isn't a great shooter, but he gets the job done in Boston. I think we can draft for a AB type player or sign a good PG with the MLE.
i agree monster..those are the players and picks we need to move for bosh..nothing more..and if toronto says no deal..call up amare stoudime and see if they will work with us with these assets..if bosh is to expensive so be it..we have to find a way to get all the pieces without loosing what we already have..addition by subtraction to are main core will be a mistake and wont cut it...no reason we cant be deeep..like the lakers or old bulls..but its gonna take money..tax..
Here are the list of 2010 free agents who are point guards: Raymond Felton Jannaro Pargo J.J. Barea Anthony Carter Acie Law Speedy Claxton Kyle Lowry T.J. Ford Earl Watson Shannon Brown Jordan Farmer Marcus Williams Carlos Arroyo Luke Ridnour Rafer Alston Bobby Brown Chris Duhon Shaun Livingston Jason Williams J.J. Redick Steve Blake Mike James The ones in bold are the ones I would like if we let trade Aaron Brooks. Out of all of those, the closest one to Aaron Brooks skillset would probably be JJ Barea.
giving up ab would be a mistake imo...rondo.getting what done?..their not even gonna go to the finals...i thought we houston fans wanted to win a ring..not just come close..ab is maybe the quickest guy in the league and can shoot the long ball with reliable consistency..our post players will need that to make the scheme work..if im morey there's no way i give up ab...
1.) If you include Brooks, you certainly arent giving them a pick as well. 2.) fine 3.) If you take back Hedo you arent giving them ANYTHING else of value other than the trade filler.
Well Rondo did win a ring with the Celtics in 08' and he has had plenty of sucess running that team, even more so then AB. I just think Scola and Martin are valueable pieces that the Rockets should consider keeping over Brooks.
Yao's future is insecure. No one knows how long he will last. That is one big factor that isn't being taken into consideration here. Bosh could be reluctant to come to Houston because of this reason. Secondly,we don't have the money to sign him outright.
I'd trade Battier, Jeffries, Hill and the pick but thats it.... Brooks/Lowry/ Martin/Taylor/ Ariza/Budinger Bosh/Scola/Hayes Yao/Haywood(MLE)/Draft pick Could still add the LLE and bought draft picks.
Wait a minute, is'nt it known that Toronto likes Hill and have always wanted Brooks? IMO this would not be too much because we would still have this years 14th pick and possibly other picks as well to try to replace the youth that we would be losing with Hill and Brooks gone. Assuming this will be one of the best drafts for role players.
Just don't GUT the team and/or Mortgage the future. GUTTING the team = TMAC trade Mortgaging the Future = Barkley Trade Example of a Good Trade Thorpe for Clyde - everyone won! Rocket River
most likely the deals will include hill or brooks, but why would toronto want brooks with they have jose calderon and jack at da point. they would want hill, battier, jefferries and our first pick this coming draft and one of the picks from new york. the debate will come in which one of hedo's or calderon contract they try to dump on us. acquiring bosh will cost us some talent. morey understands to get out of the west you need bigs to compete with the lakers thats why they made a run at stoudamire the trade deadline and now making a run at bosh. I know morey will trade anything except yao to get bosh. I could see hill, brooks, jeffierrs, shane and news york for calderon and bosh. calderon martin ariza bosh yao
This. I also pick the first option, because everyone in our starting lineup, should we get Bosh, is capable of putting up some great scoring numbers: Lowry Martin Ariza Bosh Yao Also, if Hill were to stay, he could log in minutes behind Bosh AND Yao. Bosh / Scola Yao / Hill Trading Brooks really hurts, but we theoretically wouldn't need to waste time and resources finding a backup C behind Yao, when we could just shift Hill there.
If Brooks needs to be included... Brooks + Hill + Battier + 14th pick + NY's 2012 pick + Jeffries + Andersen + Hayes + Taylor → Bosh + Hedo (salary dump) The Rockets would need to try and flip Hedo for a bench. Would the Blazers take Hedo if Pryzbilla's spending a good part of next season rehabbing and as the 4th option big man? Hedo + rights to Eliyahu → Fernandez + rights to Freeland + Przybilla (injured) Lowry, Fernandez Martin, (Fernandez/Budinger) Ariza, Budinger Scola, Freeland, Przybilla (injured) Bosh, Yao Miller, Bayless, Mills Roy, Webster Batum, Hedo, Cunningham Aldridge, Pendergraph Camby, Oden
