Bosh is not a franchise player. There are only about 3 or 4 franchise players in the whole league. Bosh can develop his game to franchise player level. Bosh can be a trade bait to get us a franchise player. Either way, with Bosh, the team will be closer to having a franchise player than ever since Dream. You can definitely build around Bosh if you don't want to tank and luck out a franchise player.
Bosh isn't a franchise player. Now does someone want suggest how we'll get franchise players like Lebron, Kobe, or Wade in rockets red?
him and Dirk are vastly similar 'franchise' players they both has franchise caliber talent but theyre not the toughest guy on a team and need a strong cast of players around them but that does not mean theyre not franchise players ill tell u one thing, we'd be ten times closer to a championship than without him u can have all the knocks on him that you want but I'd take him in a heartbeat
If Timmy D is a franchise player then Bosh is too. Surround bosh with talent and see what happens just how the Spurs did. Duncan was mentored by Robinson kinda like how we would have Bosh and Yao. Give them good shooters, play makers, and defense and you got yourself a team.
When we talk about Franchise player, I guess it means talent level. They can be built around with right players to compete for Champtionship. Bosh is. Tmac was, Yao was. In the end, they don't always pan out for different reasons though.
Bosh has been a franchise player for 5-6 years, that's a fact. It's on the franchise to decide that, and they chose Bosh. Like Houston may decide tomorrow that Brooks is their new franchise player and automatically he will, another question is where can you go with him as franchise player. If what you really want to ask is whether you can win a championship without a Lebron/Kobe/Duncan (the old best one) as franchise player, that's another topic and I'd say of course you can. That's a team game, wou will always need elite talent to win it all, but there are many ways to gather it.
If Bosh is not a franchise player, then neither was Kevin Garnett in his prime. Similar players, similar playoff successes(KG never did jack until he had all-star Cassell/Spree and Allen/Pierce). Hell yes Bosh is franchise... unless your definition of franchise player is limited to Kobe/Lebron/Wade.
you mean since mcgrady, not that mcgrady panned out, but he was definitely a top 3-5 player in the league when we got him, as opposed to bosh who i feel is not in the top 10
Franchise player? Haha. Yea, right..... This guy will never lead a team anywhere close to the championship as the #1 leader and option. He is too weak and has no leadership ability.
No, not at all. A healthy Yao is a more dominant player per minute. We have to become Sacramento and hope that he is atleast C-Webb dominant...
I'm not sure but I when I see a Raptors fan who is a good poster saying no, it does worry me. The term "franchise player" shouldn't be thrown around loosely. When you commit those kinds of dollars to a player, they should be pretty special. I'm not sure that I've ever really considered Yao to be one, either.
i guess ur not understanding the definition of a franchise player a franchise player is a guy a team spends and era or chunk of years building around he has the numbers, he may not be as great as some as the other franchise players in this game but he is Steve Francis was a franchise player Baron Davis was a franchise player in the prime of all their careers Bosh is on their level at their respective positions, who else at the 4 would u take over Bosh besides Duncan? I'd take Bosh over Gasol cuz hes not soft like Pau same with Dirk and those are franchise players (Pau when he was in Memphis) alota yall are getting this "franchise player" bizness mixed up with ''all time great'' players
Trust me, this guy plays no defense, settles for the outside shot, is your typical stat sheet stuffer. He only impacts the game on the box score and not in terms of leadership and defense. He is also very soft and is horrible in the clutch.
TMAC was a borderline franchise player in Orlando. He was not one in Houston. Bottom line for franchise player: multiple NBA 1st team selections.
Bosh is at his peak right now - so whoever gets him is buying high. Is he a franchise player? I'm not sure you build you team around Bosh as you would have built a team around Yao or T-mac when they were in their prime. But if you look at our current Rockets team, which doesn't have a franchise player anymore...then Bosh certainly might be the BEST player on this team if we got him. And that's good enough.
He prefers a slow moving PF like Kevin Love who comes cheap but can't significantly change anything. I recognize Bosh's shortcomings/cost and athleticism by itself doesn't mean anything, but sarcasm is not needed. That doesn't mean I would break up the team to get him. Morey recognizes the need for a major upgrade because Yao is unreliable and injured.
It's a BIG if but if Yao Ming regains form and plays without a major injury, then Bosh will never be the leader while Yao is our most dominant player. I can see Yao + Bosh +...... leading us to a Championship... The way DD keeps talking so down about Yao makes me think a) He already knows Yao will not be back & he is preparing us psycolgically for the bad news. b) Some Chinese have been giving him a rough time in his business life.
