    I'm talking about a better fit with Yao. IMO, with Yao, Troy Murphy is a better fit.

    With run n gun Rockets, Scola is a better fit.

    I honestly don't see your "run the floor" example as Scola is expected to rebound more than any other Rocket but I do accept all of your other points.

    And, I'll admit, I didn't realize how pathetic the Pacers were at rebounding.

    this thread named "Think outside the box", yet the OP had obviously thought within the box score. "wow, this guy is a 15/10 player, lets get him", unfortunately its not that simple.
    This guy never plays defense;
    He is the same type player like Yao: settle for outside shooting, grabbing defense rebound, ect. You put 2 of the same type player on floor, Rockets will just be a sitting duck for opponent's counter strategy;
    His salary is ridiculously outrages for Rockets;

    there are so many things about Troy Murphy that hints he is not the guy for Houston.

    Murphy is overpaid, but there are a lot of haters in this thread. It's rare to find a double-double PF that can shoot 40% from 3 and put the ball on the floor. His post defense is also underrated. He basically a more mobile Okur that shoots less. Like Okur, he gives us fits whenever we face him.

    He's not an upgrade to Scola so we really shouldn't be targeting him. We need all-stars, not redundant levels of talent.

    Dude,

    You're just wrong. A 10 rebound/game player is playing defense. Your comments about Scola's rebounding rate because of running up the court makes this point for me. Murphy is no worse of a defender than Scola, although Scola is capable of more than Murphy.

    I like Murphy too, as a veteran backup PF/C. Let's sign him next offseaon for about $12 million for 3 years.

    This is as silly as thinking that Marcus Camby would play for the LLE, when in fact he got a $23 mil 2 year extension.

    Or as silly as thinking TM is worth a $12mm trade, was his point. Yes, Troy is worthy, just not worth $12mm.

    Scola was arguably the most valuable player on our team this year. I don't really like the Troy Murphy idea unless it's a third or fourth option, but I don't want to hear any sarcasm when referencing Scola.

    When a 36 year old Marcus Camby is worth a $23 mil 2 year extension, when Nene is worth $60 mil/6 years coming off an ACL tear, when Sam Dalembert is worth the same despite up to that point never averaging 10 points or 10 boards, when Erick Dampier is worth $75 mil/7 years, yeah, I'd think Troy Murphy is worth $12 mil.

    A player is not overpaid if the market will pay them that much.

    Heck, Murphy is even an expiring contract next year, so the contract is not cap killing.

    You may or maynot want Murphy but saying Chris Bosh is a good defensive player - that is not right. You may think I don't know anything about CB - I live in Toronto and watch Raptors play every other night(on TV, like many of you). He is surrounded with all these soft players and on the court, he seems like a good defensive player - which he is not.

    Murphy will be a great addition in that price range. CB is not a shot blocker either what Rockets need. But sure, I want CB over Murphy ONLY because he has the "Star power" to get calls in the circus named "NBA". But again, his "Star power" took place in Eastern Conference, by the way, Vin Baker was an all star for a year or 2 - he was from east and I remember he used to get lot of calls. And some endorsements too.

    UH, the circus named "NBA". And Stern the ring master.

    your comparing madson and scal with troy murphy? thats like comparing lowry with eric snow and troy hudson. Your terrible at trying to prove your right. I just signed up for this website, and i already know your an idiot. IMO Murphy is basically a taller version of scola with a above average 3 point shot and with slightly better post defense.

    Garbage player..we have enough of that. We want a SUPERSTAR...we dont' need to fill our roster up with sub-par players....or one-dimensional or bench warmer to decent.

    so you think just because you watch the raptors regularly makes you knowledgeable? My fish watches 2 games a day regularly.

    You just compared Bosh to Vin Baker. Bosh is a 5 time all star and been known for being a good teammate. There is absolutely no basis for that comparison! I'm sure you and my fish will understand if I don't exactly take your opinions with any seriousness!
