I like Hayes because he's pretty low maintenance and he brings a lot of chemistry to the table...

    Excellent passer, don't forget.

Only if Brad Miller Agrees to play for 2.3 million which is Chucks team option.

No way he should make more than that for 3 years.

Chuck is better player overall than Miller, but maybe we need a backup center, and Hayes is not a center, is a PF, so if we could keep both that would be great.

You remember how Theo Ratcliff used to give Yao problems with his physicality? I think smaller/undersized players are allowed to push/shove more before a foul is called.

Chuck works the same way. Chuck can push taller players out by the way he uses his body, but I never feel confident about him holding his own for long. He’s like a really good band-aid, does the job, but he’s NOT the solution.

I like hayes, but given yao's recent health history.. you have to go for the person who is going to get it done (IF) yao goes down, even for a short period. Miller has played in adlemens system before and thrived in it. Aren't we loading up for a title run this upcoming year? Yes, hayes is 27 and miller will be 34, but were going for the gold NOW. If hayes is not wanted as someone stated earlier, then why can't we go pick him back up after this upcoming year? Miller has maybe two more years left so hes just another piece to help the bench and keep it stabalized. Call me crazy, but i'll take rad tad brad miller for one year.

Actually it all depends who else we will get. If we get Bosh, I would keep Hayes.

If the Rockets do not win the Bosh sweepstakes, then they should have enough to sign both, if Miller takes the Veterans minimum. Hayes will go back to his former role as a PF defensive stopper playing very limited minutes.

Or we could just cut Andersen and get both Miller and Hayes.

When was the last time a team cut a third sting role player that was owed $5 million over the next two seasons? Andersen has way more upside than Miller, but Miller is still better....

    It's one or the other.

    Yao - C
    Scola - PF
    Hill - PF / C
    Hayes PF/C
    Andersen C/PF
    Jeffries - PF

If you have 5 guys who can man the four, you don't re-sign another backup 4. But if that player can man the 5 well, and you need a backup center THEN you consider it unless you see a better option.

    Make sense?

Cutting him doesn't necessarily improve our cap/luxury situation.

Interesting, if I did not vote in this poll it would be tied.

I don't feel too strongly either way, but I picked Hayes since I value his defense. Maybe if I saw Miller play more last season I would know for sure who to pick.
