Jordan Hill will never have the offensive skillset that Bosh has. That's just silly. Bosh was better offensively his freshman year of college than Hill is not after 3 years of college and a year in the NBA. Not that Hill can't be good, but the odds of him developing into a go-to guy in the post aren't great.

Besides, if you cringe at losing players in a trade, that's a sign that you have enough to offer. That's the way I feel about Budinger.

Regardless of the low balling that Morey's already being accused of attempting, he will have to match the 15 mill Bosh is owed next season so Jeffries or Battier or a mix of players such as Scola, Brooks, and others would have to be something added if the plan is to entice them with Jordan Hill.

I don't think Llull has any trade value whatsoever, at least not in the US. Just cause the Rockets are high on him doesn't mean the rest of the league is as well.

After all we all know how Morey works.

When Rockets bring players, it's not as obvious and so in advance as is announced in this case....

That's a trademark of bad negotiators (like the knicks on his times) and Morey is anything but one....

Anyway, I'm curious of what bosh supporters say of the lack of leaderhip bosh showed in toronto, compared to Chris Paul was able to achieve, with a similarly talented cast...
It was not responded in that thread, I hope someone shows an excuse of Bosh not being able to carry on his team in the East.... and Paul being able with less time in the league....

I hope thats all. honestly... I do not want to lose Hill but really we would have a very solid rotation and its probably for the best that Hill goes somewhere he can flourish if we got Bosh. But I will tell you this. Morey didnt highly seek him in the tradeline deal for no reason or to just be trade bate. My opinion is that he will be a last resort to get the deal done.

The thing I would most likely hope he gives away is the draft picks. We all know what morey can get from buying a pick in the second round if we need young talent in the future. Plus keeping Battier and Jefferies on the team next year are going to be cruicial for defense if we make it to the playoffs.

Lets just hope we dont get in a bidding war with Miami or Dallas and have to give away everything and be left with Bosh, the all too familiar injured stars, and the D-League all-stars.

Here's a pitch...we can get you a shoe deal from China to offset some of the money you will be misisng out. And since Yao will likely be out with an injury, you will be the primary guy of the franchise.

Regardless, I don't think its happening.

From everything I've read and watched, he is considered a top 5 prospect in Europe. Toronto loves their Euro players, plus 2 draft picks, plus hill, plus some expiring contracts is going to be one of the best offers they get.

He wont be missing out on any money. If he comes to Houston, it'll be through a SnT. That means he is getting the max from the Raptors before sending him here. But I agree, he can probably get a lucrative chinese shoe deal. Doesn't he already have a shoe deal though? Chris Bosh seems like the type of player that should have a shoe deal here in the US.

    Toronto has NO leverage

they'll be fortunate that Bosh wants to do a sign and trade to get some sort of compensation for his departure

and 'Bosh will do the same' to help toronto is stupid cuz why the hell would Bosh help them get the best assets as they possibly can from us in return? it would be dumb cuz he would want his new team to be as loaded as possible after a trade

Raptor fans really want Bynum LOL.

I'm not sure how desperate LA will be to do that even If they don't win the title.

Granted I'm dying to get Bosh, but I'd be worried about our defense as he's not that great of a defender (due to his lack of toughness). Add him to guys who routinely get torched (Brooks, Martin) and our only real defensive presence is Ariza (if we trade Battier in the package). I'm also assuming Yao is slowed by his injury...

I still don't see Toronto making a big push for adding Llull to any deal, if I'm not mistaken his contract extends into the 2011 season and would require a buyout just for him to play in the NBA.

Another thing that would lead me to believe that Llull won't be pursued by Toronto is that he has stated that he only wants to move for a starting spot and with Calderon and Jack slated to be ahead in the rotation that would be near impossible.

Either way what we will be giving is almost minimal to what we're recieving in an All Star caliber Forward/Center. Especially if we manage to keep at least one of the pick deals (swap or 2012 pick) we recieved from NY.

I see all of this Bosh talk as a way for the Rockets to keep the Rocketsheep all hot and happy during (yet) another long off season. Would he be a game changer here? For sure, but (and that's a major B U T) I see virtually every team not named Lakers looking to make a run for this guy. For example, if Mark Cuban makes a serious play for Bosh, I just don't see how the Rockets can match what he's prepared to do. If you are Bosh and you are looking at Houston or Dallas, which team appears to be closer to being a legitimate championship team? That's the real question that has to be answered: Is he looking for a payday or a ring?

Llull requires a buyout now. He'll be free and clear in 2011. He'll be a top 5 Euro player by them.

Lack of leadership? Bosh has been nothing BUT a leader in Toronto. His rookie year, he was constantly praised by his teammates because he was forced to play out of position at center, even though he was only 20 years old, and weighed like 220. He's also incredibly well known for all of his philanthropy in both Toronto AND Dallas. Just because he's not a vocal guy on the court doesn't mean he isn't one in the locker room.

Also, as has been addressed in this thread MANY times already.....this isn't a typical negotiation. You're talking about trying to covet a superstar here.....it's HIS decision where he goes. This isn't a trade where the player has no choice. Bosh has every right to say "I don't want to go to Houston." The media, twitter, facebook, and the fans are all assets that Morey can use to let Bosh know that he's the main priority for the Rockets. Morey HAS to be up front and vocal if he wants Bosh to come here. Plain and simple.
