Llull, Hill, Two 1st rounders and Taylor if they want him. That's five potential prospects. And they probably get Battier as a filler, who has value and can be flipped to a contending team.

That's a damn good offer if Morey is willing to go all in.

Quality over quantity. Again, Jordan Hill is the best of those 5 prospects in all likelihood (maybe the 14th pick, but that's no guarantee), a lot of teams can beat that IMO.

Nice article. The sales pitch is everything that is right about the Rockets and something to look forward to.

You've got to be kidding me.

    Miami is stripped of assets.

Chicago isn't moving Rose or Noah, so that only leaves Deng with some value.

New York can give up Lee but Bosh isn't going to want to go there unless Wade or Lebron goes first. Plus if Toronto sends Bosh away from NY, that makes our picks potentially more valuable.

Dallas Damp's contract can be good but you have to attach actually good assets to make it worthwhile. And all they got are older players, Beubouis and worse picks than we do.

Lakers have Bynum, the only impact player that's been mentioned. But he's playing hurt right now, so there's going to be a lot of uncertainty about his value.

The Raptors were a borderline playoff team WITH Bosh, and since they aren't going to get full value for him, where does that leave the team. Their best bet is to get a bunch of picks and prospects and hope that they can hit the lottery. Anything else and they'll just be treading water.

If we trade for Bosh the max I'm going is Hill and the Knicks picks (basically the Knicks package, which would be ironic as hell LOL), and expirings(battier included). No scola, and no 14th round lottery pick.

Remember that Dampier's contract will only be partially guaranteed (~2 million), so they don't have to take back nearly as much in salary. Plus Beaubois is a very, very attractive blue chip piece, possibly even more so than Hill. So far from a sign and trade perspective, I would say Dallas still has the upper hand over us in terms of asset quality. Also teams with cap space don't have to send salary back to Toronto in a sign and trade deal, and that plus a high draft pick could make a very enticing offer.

Depends on the Knicks, Our picks could be more valueable than all of that...

It's great to see the Rockets in "go for it" mode.

This type of PR effort is what the moment calls for. If Bosh is trying to decide what to do right now, the pitch must be made through the media, Twitter and by every means possible. He must see Houston as a likely destination in his mind right now. The in-person pitch is about closing the deal. It isn't the start of the campaign to get him here.

If you were Chris Bosh, you wouldn't just be deciding right now "should I stay or should I go" without a destination in mind. You'd be deciding "is there another place that would be better for me than Toronto and where?"

Morey is smart to make it very clear that Chris Bosh is Houston's top priority.

How many times does this have to be repeated on the board. Bosh has already stated that HE DOES NOT WANT TO GO PLAY IN DALLAS BECAUSE ITS TOO CLOSE TO HOME AND THERE ARE TOO MANY DISTRACTIONS.

I really don't think that's the reason he'd decline Dallas. I think the main reason is that Bosh wants to be the franchise guy, he's not going to be that in Dallas, also in Toronto he played with Bargnani at Center...so Dallas going to put Dirk at Center? Are they going to play Haywood at Center (if they resign) then put one of them on the bench (lol) either way it just doesn't seem like a good fit.

He comes here and it is literally the perfect fit next to Yao. The only concern is that Brooks or Martin will have to take less shots with those two in the post.

100% correct, although he did go after Gortat last year.....so, maybe it is his offseason style?

    Jeffries, Battier.

I am getting nauseous about losing Hill in this deal, and losing Llull makes it much worse. These are two players that might be better than Bosh in a few years.

All the talk is coming from the internet/tv/radio, not the Rockets. Bosh really lit the fire with his tweet the other day. There really isn't a "low-profile" way to go after a superstar in free agency- we're just used to Morey dealing for low profile players or players that were seemingly unavailable (in Martin's case). It still could be a smokescreen, but the fact of the matter is that Morey suggested that we would be players in free agency and Bosh is the most available and best fit for our team.

two first rounders are fine as long as they do not include the pick swap with NY for 2010. We have to keep that one for a possible Rubio deal.

    Future Rockets:
    Rubio
    Bosh

Exactly. Morey's standard TRADE procedure may be to keep things quiet and under the radar, but for marquee free agents, the same logic doesn't apply. You want a massive PR and fan effort. Trades are much more complex, but with free agents, it's simply a matter of the player deciding where he wants to play. In that case, you want the player to feel wanted, and not just by a few in the front office, but by the fans and Houston community as a whole. Morey isn't allowed to make contact until July 1 (if you notice, no on-the-record comments in the Justice article, and that's why), but that doesn't mean he can't have the media and fans doing his work before then. That's exactly what this campaign has done.
