As long as he avoids saying, "It's (all) on Me."

This team has a chance not only get out of first round , but contend for a title in the near future . Young team with great solid players at key positions , imagine if they could get a "Beastly" C or PF with so much CAP SPACE to get a Bosh possibly .

he went 6 game with the defending champs and the favorites for this year. if they played any other team they probably would have won the series.

    stop making stupid threads.

Durant is a better scorer than McGrady and has the chance to be the best perimeter scorer in the history of the NBA.

There are no limits to what he can become as a scorer. He's a far better shooter with unilmited range and has obviously shown that he can get to the line at will.

Imagine if he is able to put just 10 lbs of muscle on that frame over the next few years.

Having said that, at various points in his career, McGrady proved to be able to do a little bit of everything, from defense early in his career to playmaking later in his career, and everything in between.

I'd like to see Durant continue developing on defense like he did this season and improve his playmaking skills, both of which will surely happen over the course of his career. I know that he improved defensively but I think that a little more core and overall strength will allow him to improve his lateral quickness and ability to body up on players.

McGrady didn't have anyone as good or promising as Westbrook nor do the two really play a similar style.

Tracy McGrady is better than Durant right now.

    Yeah, that's real funny.

Although Durant choked massively, at least he still wanted the ball and wasn't afraid to take shots in clutch moments. That leads me to believe he'll have a lot more success than McGrady.

lol assuming u r joking by saying tmac is better than durant right now.

a prime/orlando tmac is debatable. Now, its not even close. They should not be mentioned in the same sentence.

anyway, durant will get past the 1st round, infact, next season is probably when they have a deep playoff run IMO. I don't think they are ready to win it all, but a WCF is possible.

A guy by the name of Vince Carter joined McGrady in his 2nd season.

Westbrook joined Durant in his 2nd season.

I agree that OKC, at this point, has more talent than any of McGrady's early teams but to say that McGrady didn't have anyone isn't accurate. Carter was instantly an elite player when he came into the league.

Yao is absolutely good enough. When I read "in his prime" I assumed Orlando though (which now I suppose isn't necessarily the right assumption) and also assumed the era when T-Mac was winning scoring titles since Durant is in that realm.

As for the Carter in Toronto thing, again, "in his prime".

Brooksball, you make good points. But, there is no way Durant WILL become the best scorer because of his athleticism. He really doesnt jump high enough for his type of frame. His speed and quickness are average imo. He gets bailed out a lot because he's weak and can draw fouls easier.
