Being physical and being dirty are not incompatible. They very often go together. Actually, the more physical you are, the more likely it is you'll be considered dirty.
being that the jazz have never won jack, and I don't find them a serious threat to anything any time soon I voted for the lakers, as much as I hate okur and boozer and kirilenko, the sum of that does not equal the hate I have alone for derick fisher, or kobe. Whoever said the lakers are not dirty has not watched derick fisher, he is one of the dirtiest players in the league, that cheap shot on scola last year almost had me jumpin thought the tv to strangle his neck
Sometimes, you can be physical without being dirty, and sometimes they go together. The intent of hurting someone on purpose is what makes the difference. I didn't like the Jordan Rules Bad Boys either. They had sound fundamentals, but chose to ignore them in order to win. The Jazz have the same philosophy.
I don't like the Lakers, either. These are probably my 2 least favorite teams. I think that I actually want the Jazz to win though because they are the underdogs. I'd want them to then lose to the Spurs in the next round. I'd rather see the Suns advance but I don't they stand a chance.
LOL @ some Clutchfans members. You hate Malone. You hate Kirilenko. You hate Okur. There ARE 10 other players on that Jazz roster right now, btw. And all of them are not Malone / AK / Okur. I don't know why you would hate the team; just hate certain players, guys. I can't stand the guys listed above, and Fisher / Vujacic on the Lakers.
its called a rivalry. you dont have to hate all the players on a team to hate the team. it's actually the exact opposite. i hate the team itself. i don't care what players play for them. the reason most rocket fans hate the jazz (the team, not all of the players) is because they beat us in the playoffs probably more than any other team... and they did it by playing dirty.
You forgot Boozer and Stockton and Jerry Sloan, and Jeff Hornazeck, and Greg Ostertag, oh and Byron Russel just to throw in...
My two most hated teams in the league, for sure. Probably followed by the Mavs in a very distant third... but the Lakers edge out the Jazz. The Fakers stand for everything that is wrong with pro sports, and Kobe is just such a ******* douche on the court.
If Kobe Bryant was not on the Lakers, I would definitely hate Utah more. But Kobe does play for the Lakers, so they are my most hated team.
Well Jazz foul on every play because they know the Refs are not going to call it every play. It's exploiting IMO because they know it's bad for TV if the refs do call every single foul. That's how I see it and it's funny because Phil just mentioned that in the huddle, that they are a bunch of hackers. They do this crap on purpose, that's why they lead the NBA in fouls nearly every year, and why they have always had problems on the road with Sloan. It helps to be physical at home when you get more calls your way, but on the road it doesn't fly and this is why Sloan will probably never lead them to a championship. If they do somehow make it out of the west, think they have a chance at using this against the Magic or Lebron? It'd just be a bunch of and 1's, Lebron and Dwight would just go up and dunk it with the contact, this is why I think the Lakers kill them, contact doesn't bother guys like Gasol or Kobe.
It's the lesser of two evils here. I despise Kobe's crybaby antics and tantrums, Bynum and Gasol pushing in the back to get rebounds, and just in general, the whining and condescending mentality of the Lakers and their coach. Therefore, I am hoping the Jazz win this series. (Can't believe I am rooting for the Jazz.)
i have no problem with the jazz except for the facts that they have beaten rockets too many times... but i dislike the lakers more. Atleast most of the jazz players dont whine and complain like the lakers do....but lakers do play in LA...where drama happens. and someone said jazz play more dirty than the lakers? NO WAY...lakers play waaaaay more dirty especially when their losing or things not going their way. my top 3 most hated teams.... Mavs, Cavs, Celtics.....all 3 ignorant conceited teams. cant stand their player's antics and cockiness.
I agree.. they with disregard to the countless floppers, they really play the right way. They are well coached, hustle constantly, and have exciting players to watch. I just hate the lakers more then anything, the nba and the refs WANT the lakers to win it every year, makes me sick
Since 1980, the Rockets lost in the playoffs to the Lakers, the Jazz, and the Sonics 5 times each. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=houstonpost Personally, I hate the Lakers more. Only people in Utah like the Jazz. But there are Lakers banwagoners everywhere. I just can't stand the Lakers' smug sense of entitlement.
I pulled for the Jazz in round one and I'm pulling for them in round two. If the Spurs don't get out of the West then my next choice is the Jazz and I would hope they beat anyone they face in the Finals. Sorry, but with Okur and Cryalenko out the only Jazz player left on the floor that I dislike is Boozer and he isn't even that bad. Plus, Deron Williams has been my favorite non-Rocket for quite some time so my hate for the Jazz has faded considerably as of late. My Mavs hate, however, is as strong as ever.
As a Houstonian living in Utah, I've always been confused by this. How did Jazz fans earn the rep of being so 'loud'? That's never been my experience at a game.
When you hate someone, you wish failure upon them. Maybe they have some decent teammates, but it takes a pretty hefty positive to make up for so many negatives.
