It's a little close, because AB shoots so well from three to complement Yao. I still would, but it's not as clear cut as some of you guys make it.
WOW....I'm surprised at the number of people who said they would dump Brooks for Westbrook in a heartbeat. AB will be a much much better player on this Houston Rockets team as a scoring complimentary player than Westbrook will ever be.
Ima say no...guys there's ah reason we took the lakers to 7 games his name is brooks...westbrook is ah monster but I can promise u kobe wouldn't call 2 hold brooks in the series...o and give brooks K.Durant wow that would be crazy
I agree that Brooks is a better fit for THIS team since Brooks is a better outside shooter but its not like Westbrooks jumpshot is terrible. Also his ability to draw fouls with the likes of Martin and Yao, opponents would have foul trouble every game.
Yes I would do this trade, but we shouldn't be trying to replace Brooks, he is a very good PG. I don't know what the point of all of these "trade Brooks" threads are, but our main objective should be acquiring Bosh. Bombard his Twitter people!
Um we already have Westbrook light on this team...his name's Kyle Lowry. Lowry does everything Westbrook does but slightly worse. Why the heck would you want Westbrook and westbrook light on the same roster? Westbrook's main ability and what makes him so good is his skill in driving inside. How is he going to do that with Yao Ming next season? We replace Brooks with WB and the only good shooter left on the team is Kevin Martin. Also how deadly would the Thunder be with Brooks next to Durant?
I'm not that enthusiastic about a point guard with bad handles. OKC wouldn't trade him for anyone less than a superstar though, so it's a moot point.
I would probably do the trade based on that Westbrook is so much younger and more athletic. But it is one that you would have to think about for sure since Brooks is a much better shooter. But OKC wouldn't think about it and neither would Morey.
PER's among PG: 11. Westbrook 17.90 24. Brooks 16.04 32. Hill 14.70 Obviously it doesn't put the argument to rest but it does help you normalize somewhat for playing time. And no account for defense either. Of course you would take Westbrook because he was the 4th pick in the draft; much more athletic and much higher ceiling for both offense and defense even if he isn't there yet.
No there not. Brooks will struggle finishing with contact while Westbrook will just dunk on whoevers in his way.
