http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/chi...ices-narrowed-down-to-houston-or-chicago.html According to sources close to me, Brad Miller is deciding between Houston and Chicago to extend his career. He expects to get a multi-year contract at above the vet minimum, and his decision will depend on whether or not the Rockets extend Rick Adelman. If Adelman is extended, so he's guaranteed to play with him for both of his seasons then his favorite is Houston. If Adelman is not extended then Chicago is the front runner. This is what I hear about what Brad wants and expects. We'll have to see whether both teams reciprocate that interest. Do we want Brad Miller on a multi-year contract? I like Brad Miller as much as the next guy, but if we get a front court piece as our major free agent then there's not much room left to sign guys. That room shouldn't be spent on Brad Miller.
I personally don't mind having Miller on the Rockets. He's a decent C and would get some good minutes while Yao comes back with limited playing time at the start of the season. But he wants a multi-year contract and above Vet's minimum... Hmm...
It's all posturing. Also, didn't Adelman already get an extension? Miller will soon learn he won't have a true market value and will sign with the vets min.
Why people freaking out over Miller simply wanting more than the minimum. $1.5 mil or $3 mil a year is above the minimum. It's a cheap price for a big man with actual basketball skills.
Gotta move Andersen,Les shouldn't pay for him and Miller. LLE is enough for Brad. He seems to want a longer term contract. No need for that. We need another center even if we get him. That's obvious, because he can't bring defensive skills at the 5.
Going off of memory, the extension was only for a year or two. Miller wants it be 5. I wouldn't have a problem with that.
