i live in pearland and the only one we have here is the Splashes car wash..its like 15 bucks though. any other ones guys? thanks.
Mister Car Wash's Gold Express Club. Best value imo. "$29.99 a month receive unlimited washes that include underbody flush, Surface & Glass, and Hot Shine Carnauba Shield with every visit" (website). For a little extra money you can get the interior cleaned/shampooed as well.
Quick Quack is nails. You can get the best deal for 9.95 then take your ride back within 5 days for a rewash, no questions asked. They also offer cheap monthly plans.
In Pearland there is also Texas Splash on the east side of town. If you ever shop at Kroger, the back of the receipts usually have coupons for a $9 wash or something like that.
ok cool deals. on the same note..any tips of washing black cars? avoiding scratches, and the inevitable water spots when you're drying it.
Your driveway, its free and it gets you out of your house... The BBS will be there when you get back inside, I promise.
I love black cars, but its stressful when it comes to washing them. First, 99% of commercial car wash systems are going to put swirl marks on your black finish. For the first couple of years that I own a black car, I hand wash them, until they are older and it doesn't matter as much. When washing at home, you should get a non scratch wash mitt and use a decent car wash solution. When you wash, blast the car down with water first, taking off as much dirt as you can with just water. Then wash the car with the wash mitt. Make sure to rinse the mitt well as you wash to keep dirt from sticking to the mitt and scratching the finish. There are actually little mitt scrubbers you can use to put in your bucket that get the grit off the mitt while you are washing. I haven't found the need to use those, but I know several car detail guys that use them. Dry the car with a super absorbant, scratch free, terry cloth towel. Get a couple of them and switch them as you are drying to keep from scratching the car with any grit that may get on them, and it also helps keep away the water marks. I highly recommend not washing your car in the sun. When you wash in the sun, the water dries to quickly and forms spots. Another tip for drying your car. Use the water itself to help. Let the hose pour water on your car (without spraying) and "sheet" off the car when you are done rinsing. This will take off about 80% of the water for when you are ready to dry. Next you need to protect the car. That means wax and/or sealant. The wax/sealant protect the car from scratches and road debris. A well applied wax and sealant will also last through several washes. It actually makes it easier to wash the car as the water will bead and not create water marks.
