Part of President Bush's "working vacation" was hosting an economic summit in Milwaukee today. When he announced his vacation many people on the left bashed Bush mercilessly.

This brings me to a question...when was the last time you wanted to vacation in Milwaukee? When was the last time hosting an economic summit relaxing (read: a vacation)?

Looks like George punched his timecard this morning.

Never. But I don't plan vacations, my dad does. He usually takes us to tropical places like Cancun and Jamaica. I kind of want to go somewhere with snow, though. I'm getting tired of seeing crystal-clear water and beaches everywhere. Probably seem crazy, right?

Hmm... I sure went a little off-topic. Go USA!

    There.

    (stupid Canadians.)

You should ask your Dad to take you to Anchorage, Alaska...beautiful! I went in 1999 and can't wait to go back. Go in the last week of May (it's cheaper and not too cold).

    OK...back on topic everybody!!!! :D

Ever been to Milwaukee? It's on my top 5 list of cities that I'd love to live in America.

I also heard people from the right bash Bush as well.

The interesting thing about Milwaukee is that it's the only major American city to have three socialist mayors...

I like Milaukee a lot too. It's a great city. Fish fry fridays are great.

I will admit I was down on Bush for his vacation. He is kind of working on it - maybe even more than in Washington.;)

I think he sees the need to work on this vacation, because things are pretty screwed up.

Actually there was also an economic summit held at Baylor this past week, that Pres. Bush attended, too....

I know my wife and I always choose economic summits for our getaway times!!! :D

If you had 29 days, you might pick economic summits. :D

I lived in Milwaukee for a year. It is not all that great. Summer is fun between late June and mid July because of Summerfest and it's neat to see snow(only for the first week or so, come April and it's still white outside you're on the verge of going insane), but the winters are bitter cold, the women are butt ugly and the downtown area stinks(seriously, it often smells of the slaughterhouses just around the viaduct(sp?).

    I love Austin.

Actually, believe it or not, there is a great vacation place in Wisconsin (sp?). Kohler, Wisconsin (not sure how far from Milwaukee) has one of the best golf resorts in the country...its called the American Club. Black Wolf Run, Whistling Straits (both are Top 100 courses in the US)and one other decent course is there as well. No joke...if you ever are looking for a late summer golf vacation, definitely try this place.

Hey, I've vacationed in Detroit so Milwaukee sounds like paradise to me.

Are you referring to Dorr County, WI? If so...my parents just got back from there. Very nice. But Milwaukee is not Dorr County. :)

My Dad vacationed in the Detroit area and actually got hit by a tornado while there (and ended up with a concussion).

Of course, my Dad ends up going to seemingly strange places for vacations because he goes there for conventions or for auto auctions (hence our trip to Tulsa a little while back).

I think going to an economic summit would be downright exciting compared to some of my trips, especially if I got to host the thing. :)

He's lucky he didn't get hit with a tire iron -- the mood in that city is UGLY.

We got it but felt adding to it or acknowledging it would somehow diminish the humor.

Well, he was actually in Auburn Hills where there's not nearly as much random street crime, as I understand it.

I don;t know what county Kohler is in...but I think we are talking about 2 different places....Kohler is usually referred to as Kohler, not Dorr county.
