We start off with 26 players, all of which were named all-stars last year. Each day, you cast your vote, by posting who you would like to take off the list. The object is to have the player you feel is the number one all-star, left last on the list, and not taken off. You have 24 hours to cast your vote until the next round. I vote TD off. The game they played on Easter this past season showed me something. At the end of the game (after TD got finished killing Horry) The Laks switched and put Shaq on Tim and TD got the ball like 7 straight possesions on Shaq and put up a goosegg and the Spurs lost. Shaq can score on anybody but few can score on him so he's the winner IMO.
Truth time y'all know Duncan is great, but he is not as good as Hakeem. Shaq is closer to being as good as Hakeem. However, Duncan never would have been body-slammed by Barkley. But, I can't bare to see the Spurs fans here win a vote. If you admit Duncan is #1, what's to stop them from saying that validates their asterix title and extrapolating it further into saying *both* Robinson and Duncan are better than Hakeem. At least Laker's fans ignore us, pretty much. We have to live with these Spurs fans, and all those Jesus Parker and Ginobilli benefitting from the greatness of Duncan, like any of us really thought Kenny Smith was Jesus back in the day. Speaking of Hakeem, man he undressed Robinson, didn't he. He undressed him and slapped a few asterixes on his MVP ass, didn't he? Then again, I can't quite type something involving a vote for Shaq. I'd rather go make some hot chocolate. hmmmmm hot chocolate! maybe I'll put some steamed milk on it, and curl up on the couch with a book and my doggie. Yeah, then maybe slip away into a nap. what were we talking about.
i vote duncan off. shaq is just more dominant, even tho i like td's game better. BUT IVERSON SHOULD STILL BE HERE!!! HE SHOULD HAVE WON!!!!!!!!!!!
Shaq. Duncan is the better player. He led the Spurs to a better record than the Lakers despite playing with Tony Parker rather than Kobe Bryant. Replace Duncan with Shaq, and there is no way the Spurs finish second in the conference. I think this is the easiest vote I've made.
Okay, so put Duncan on the Lakers with Kobe, and put Shaq on the Spurs with Bruce Bowen. You'd have the same result of Lakers winning three championships, while at the same time dominating the regular season.
duncan, even though i think he is a better player...he is not as dominant. shaq is a better player to build a team around...simply nobody has been able to consistantly match up.
No, I won't put Duncan on the Lakers, I won't put Shaq on the spurs. Why? because its fantasy world. You don't know what would happen if you did. Maybe Sacramento would win. Maybe the NBA would cease to exist. Who cares? IT DIDN'T HAPPEN, and I have just as much basis in pure speculation to say that the Lakers wouldn't win with Duncan or that the Spurs would win with O'Neal as you do to say otherwise Hell, even your best case fantasy hypothetical scenario, that the Spurs would win 3 championships,is only equal to what Shaq has done in reality. So what does that prove? Reality says: more points, more rebounds, more blocks, more Final MVPS, more rings, most dominant player in the history of the game. Regular season, schmegular season. So Gary payton was better than Hakeem Olajuwon in 1994 because the sonics had a better record? please.
As expected, the lovefest for the 3.0, 19% FG player in the 4th quarter continues. I do have one thing to ask, though. If you don't like Duncan, fine. Vote him off. But do not try and use the last two years in the playoffs as reasoning. It's kind of like the folks that try and say Baron Davis is better than Francis because he made the playoffs. Who cares? It's in the Eastern Conference! Likewise, who cares if Shaq has beaten TD in the playoffs? Shaq has the best player in the game on his team (Bryant). Duncan has Steve Smith and Danny Ferry. If you really want to compare, let's look at individual numbers from the playoffs this year. Duncan vs. Lakers = 29 ppg, 17.2 reb, 4.6 asst, 3.2 blocks Shaq vs Spurs= 21.4 points, 12.2 reb, 3.3 asst There was a difference in 4 shots a game between them, so if we are generous and give them a 50% percentage, that's two extra baskets for Shaq bringing him to 25 points. Even with that, he's still not near Duncan's production in that series. And he should be well beyond Duncan's shooting percentage, since he has Kobe Bryant to attract attention away from him and Duncan has the Steve Smith's of the world. Spare me the injury BS too. Shaq seemed to be his normal self against every other playoff opponent but the Spurs... hmm. Ya'll can use the "most dominant" excuse all you want, but I'd trade 2 or 3 points in the first three quarters for a player that can actually be a threat in the fourth quarter. This is the easiest choice of the entire survivor... Shaq
Duncan. If Shaq doesn't win, I will have to say that the members of this BBS err The Republic of China are among the most ignorant on the web, if not anywhere. Shaq has the numbers, Shaq has the rings, Shaq is the best. No argument to be made. The Big Fundamental isn't even on the same rader as Aristotle.
