I agree with this post completely. I am pulling for the Thunder in the west and the Hawks in the East. This is the first time in 17 years that I have actually pulled for another team other than the Rockets. I am right behind Durant cheering him and his team on. . . . and I don't know why. The team is just really likable.
He is not arrogant, he is not dirty, why would you hate him? if the rockets play against the thunder in the playoffs obviously I would root against him.
Why hate Durant? Is he too humble? Does he not run his mouth enough? I mean the guys nice, humble, he's popular amongst his peers and I can't recall a single moment of jackassery from him. He even went back to college to get his degree. Kids can look up to him, though he shouldn't have to be a role model he's a human. Sure he gripes at calls but so what? Name a player who hasn't. Really you shouldn't hate on anyone especially when you don't know em but Why not hate on Queen James while you're at it?
I dont agree with labeling the critics that way. Way over-generalizing. However if its discovered that they're at the heart of it, would it really be surprising?. By far the most active vocal fans are Kobe fans and Lebron haters, with Lebron haters having ties into Kobe fan-dom. Its not even close with other players. Cant forget its against the high profile Lakers as well, even taking Kobe out of it. If Durant did his same stuff playing the Suns, would it generate as much response? I dont think so I don't like tattoos. I dont hate players with tattoos either. Just that tattoos still have certain negative connotations that are hard to shake off. And a "blank canvas" still means something to some people. Okay, tattoos on girls mostly. On players and dudes who cares
Since the Rox are not in the playoffs, OKC is the team I am pulling for. How can you not like Durant?
I really dont give a crap about Durant but I do not wish bad upon him. I know everyone on this board will hate Durant if we play against him next year in the playoffs. As Steve Francis once said about Kobe Bryant "He's gettin calls like its his birthday." Its disgusting.
