This was written before the draft.....hopefully this will speak for itself (Dez is speaking up to clear the rumors) for people who still know nothing about Dez and just believe the "character rumors" hype.

FYI, like I mentioned before, he was NEVER late to a game, and he WAS always one of the first ones there during warmups and he was ALWAYS there for "The Walk" to the stadium an hour or so before every home game. He did , however, admit that he was late to some team funtions his Fr year, but hasn't done so since.

When a coach passes on a guy like Bryant I look at that coach and kind of think... man, what a puss. Just do your job breh and make it happen.

I mean I get why people are so high on Bryant but wide receiver is the most difficult position to correctly gauge, in my opinion. He'll have to show me something consistently before I anoint the Cowboys as winners in this draft, as almost everybody else has. I still think Austin could turn out to be a one year wonder too given the schedule the NFC East teams had last year.

Did he ever have a big game against a good D? Obviously he missed a bunch of games this last year but I never remember him coming up big against Texas or OU, mostly I remember him dominating Baylor, Iowa State, etc.

He has all the tools to be a top receiver. You can't disguise talent. He has it.

All of that's true though , ironically.

My friend had him in Algebra, and he said Dez showed up every day and while he wasn't the best at math, he tried his best and was very respectful and humble (this was before he blew up against Kansas in 2007)

    I'm a fan.

Why do you have to be sarcastic like that? Would his agent bother posting an article on CFs?

For every story of him being on time, you can find one of him being an idiot. This is the same guy that showed up to his own pro day and forgot to bring any shoes. Not to mention OKState had people make sure he got up on time etc..

That said, he's a hell of a talent and while he might be a bit lazy off the field, he was a monster on the field. I think he'll do just fine in the NFL but dont play it off as if he was a model of work ethic.

The Cowboys offense could be great next season...if you assume that Bryant will be our new kick-off/punt returner and in the receiver rotation...and Roy Williams gets any kind of game going after the huge disappointment he was last season. We're talking Austin, Bryant, Crayton, Ogletree, and Williams. You have to give respect to Austin after the season he had. Bryant will draw attention or will burn you. Crayton can get it done. Ogletree has shown great skill with little playing time. And, Williams...well...just catch the damn ball. And, on top of that, you have to worry about stopping Jason Witten and our running game.

The thing that still really concerns me is the offensive line and lack of depth. Also, a lot of expectations on Doug Free to step up for released Flozell Adams. It's been primarily the offensive line which has broken down for us in the playoffs. If you cannot protect the quarterback, then it won't matter who the WRs are because there will be little to no time to deliver them the ball. After the crappy ass Minny playoff game last season, the offensive line is what broke down...and it doesn't seem to be getting much attention from Jerry (like it's not the problem). I don't understand it. I hope Jerry has some more moves coming.

i think the guy gets an unncessary amount of criticism. The Deion thing just seemed like a big deal about nothing. It's easy to see how he got scared and told a little lie. Nothing seemed malicious about it

the cleats...every forget something? i have. A pen to a meeting...paper to a meeting, business cards to a social event. It happens to the best of us. Plus, didnt he have several other pairs of shoes he took? not like he showed up with flipflops and nothing else

missed classes/meetings/etc...eh...the stories seem to be on both sides of the fence. But hell, who didnt miss some classes in college?

Just find your constant need to exalt OSU players as God's Gift to Earth as a little silly, they'll play and it'll speak for themselves whether they were really cut out for it.

My lasting memory of Bryant the college player will be of the pass he fumbled right into the arms of a Houston defensive back that lead to UH's first national ranking in more than a decade. Thanks, Dez! If I'm remembering correctly, he immediately collapsed to the ground with "cramps."

Bryant certainly looks the part of an elite receiver, and he's obviously got ideal size. I'm not sold on his being an elite pro right out of the gate, though... he didn't look terribly fast to me.
