Stephen Baldwin needs a bailout...a Christian bailout

Yeah, I'm kind of wondering what the hell he does for a living; since he probably doesn't feel comfortable playing the types of roles he would actually fit in, and he's really too stupid to know enough about the Bible to be an actual minister. He may just need to go over to Allstate, RE/MAX or Oxnard Lincoln/Mercury and start moving product. Or just run for Congress, since he's Sarah Palin's "favorite Baldwin brother."

Do christians find this ad offensive? Seems almost blasphemous to use god to... "earn" money like that.

 

The crap I say around here isn't nearly as offensive or blasphemous as that.

 

This has to be a joke:
Q- Why does Stephen need personal wealth?
A- Stephen’s influence is in Hollywood. Hollywood worships money and without it you are seen as a loser and cannot be an effective influence to this group.

Q- How much money does he need?
A- From what I read in public court documents Stephen needs several million dollars to pay all of his creditors but he deserves hundreds of millions for his Job like faithfulness in the face of relentless loss and persecution.

Q- What percentage of a gift actually reaches Stephen?
A- 100% goes directly into his bank account through online gifting. The bank account was arranged by Daniel Southern. Daniel was Billy Graham’s Crusade Director for almost 20 years.

 

wth... Job was not restored by the people. The people brought gifts to Job after God restored him. i ought to quit my day job

 

Not sure there are enough hours in the day for me to tell you how wrong I think the theological underpinnings of this effort are.

So I'll just say this: you should always look after the poor....but God is God whether Baldwin is rich or poor.

I don't even know if that rises to the level of offensive it is so silly! I feel like it has got to be a joke, what's with the ludicrous expression?

As for what sort of movies he could make as a Christian, has anyone watched True Blood? The actor that plays a flaming homosexual (and one of my favorite characters in the series) is a serious Christian. My point is that it is more honoring to God to do your job well and make an honest living rather than to mooch off of other people's hard earned money. For an actor that means portraying people as the beautiful, fallen images of God that they are, worthy or respect and love and in need of redemption. There should be plenty of roles he can take on to get himself out of bankruptcy.

Meanwhile, if he has anything to do with this ad he clearly has a lot of spiritual maturing to do but the good news is that lots of people go through stages like that and eventually move out of them. Fortunately it isn't usually so public.

Looking at the FAQ, they say Stephen Baldwin himself doesn't have anything to do with the site other than being an unwitting beneficiary. I have to wonder if it isn't a bald-faced fraud using his name and likeness to make money.

I hope some journalist can interview the guy about the site and see what he has to say about it.

 

He looks too sleazy in the shots of him for me to believe it was made with his consent or by anyone who takes Christianity seriously. It looks like it was made as a mockery of both him and Christians. But a rather lame mockery.

 

In the vid I thought it said "with the approval of Stephen Baldwin."

I'm pretty sure he is aware of this and plays a role in it besides just getting the money.
