Wrong. Shaq averaged 29 points per game two different years with the Magic. T-Mac never averaged 35 points per game. Shaq is the best player in Magic history at this point, but I think Howard will surpass him, especially if he develops any kind of post up game. His moves down low are still so ugly.
Howard can surpass Shaq's career as a Magic, but not as an NBA player. Prime McGrady isn't as good as young Shaq ... but I think it is pretty close.

Regardless of the averages, Orlando Shaq is not better than Orlando T-Mac. T-Mac was on a whole 'nother level back then.

i was joking im just saying individual talent cant be compared to other individual talent when you start talking about championships and what kind of team that player had. tmac was the best orlando player ever then shaq then dwight
I mixed up Shaq's averages in the playoffs with Orlando. No biggie, T-Mac still averages more than Shaq does in Orlando so your post is kind of pointless. Seriously Tinman, this isn't even close just give it up.
I completely disagree. I have to say this honestly as possible, Shaq was just as dominant as he was with the Lakers. The only reason, that his Laker years look so much better is the titles and dwindling competition (every good center from that era was just about on their last leg) at center (also fail to mention how he was much more agile, athletic, and active on defensive end). O'Neal was a beast coming into the league, making the all star game in his first year. Moreover, Shaq's rookie season was better than Dwight's number last season. I have to say, if you put Shaq from his rookie year up until his 4th or 5th season in the league on last year's Magic team in place of Howard. That series completely turns around, Shaq would easily average 27 - 32 ppg and 11 -14 rebounds a game. Which is why I could not in good conscience take T-Mac or Dwight over Shaq? He could do more either one of those Magic teams that feature either (no college) high schooler for their respective teams.
Or maybe he thinks there's been 2 people that have scored a 100 points in a game in the NBA--Kareem and Lew Alcindor. It's an easy mistake to make SMH
Whether or not Tracy was better, i aint saying he is or isnt right now, but he shud still be on the poll. Cmon, maybe shaq was better with orlando cos of the success, but i onestly believe Tracy was a better Orlando player than Howard has been so far. Team success does count, but its not everything, not even close. Look at team mates. Put Howard in that mac orlando team and take away mac and that team wud probs been worse. Guess my point is, whilst lots of u guys have bad opinions of mac because of recent events etc, never forget that he was one of the best players in this league when he was with Orlando
it isn't even close, both of these players, Shaq/Dwight took the Magic to their best seasons ever with both team and personal achievements. both of these guys are game changers. Dwight is DPOY this year.
shaq is easily the most dominant player EVER. this is as soon as he set foot on the court as a rookie. you can't say that about tmac, howard, or any other magic player. howard would have to be no. 2. that 94-95 orlando team could've been one of the greatest ever. unfortunately for them, they had to meet the greatest rockets team ever in the finals and never recovered from that trauma.
i dont recall tmac ever being a game changer defensively as well. shaq's presence alone forced the opposition to re-think their strategy offensively and defensively. tmac was a scoring machine no doubt but that is it. and when was the last time tmac went to the finals? oh yeah. never. if i were an opposing team and had to choose my opponent (orlando tmac or orlando shaq) im going to choose tmac. at least you can contain him. not much you can do against 7'1 300 lbs. bulldozing to the basket and getting your guys in foul trouble. i'll take my chances with tmac having to pull yet another amazing clutch shot outta his a$$ to beat me (knowing he will eventually fold mentally) over resorting to stretching the final 2 minutes of the game to 30 minutes by resorting to hack-a-shaq.
Shaq...probably. But Tracy would be close for me. People can save their ex-girlfriend feelings about Mac, his Orlando period, he was insane. Individually is what I'm looking at here, just the Player. We all know that the team went nowhere with Mac.
As a Tmac fan I think you're way exaggerating how good Mac was in Orlando. Mac was pretty good offensively in Orlando but he didn't play any defense at all (probably why they ended up with the worst record in the league). He did win the scoring title but that was because he put all his energy on scoring buckets. T-mac the player achieved his peak IMHO during his first two years here in Houston, he learned to play good D under JVG and having a big man like Yao made him realize how he was at making plays for other people. Even in his rookie year Shaq is better than DH now. However because Shaq left after the finals while DH stayed on as far the better "Orlando" player goes it has to be DH, as DH has accomplished more than Orlando Shaq by this time already.
Tinman, you got to remember that Tmac put one of the greatest PER seasons of all time with the Magic. Not saying he was better than Shaq....
